Where to find higher education administration salary data?

I am trying to ballpark appropriate salary ranges for a variety of higher education administration/student affairs positions at a private, 4-year college in the Northeast. What sources should I be using to benchmark this data? I am familiar with the CUPA-HR Salary Survey data that is publicly available, but I am not able to pay for the full report. Inside Higher Ed and the Chronicle make some data publicly available, but it is very limited in scope. Are there other sources I should be consulting?

Has anyone heard of a degree in "strategic intelligence"?

So I've now had two young people in the last month ask me for career advice who told me they were planning to major in "strategic intelligence." Has anyone heard of such a thing? I hadn't, and had to look it up. From what I can gather it seems to be basically a hybrid history/poli-sci degree. Is that accurate? And more than that, is such a degree worth the paper it's printed on? [more inside]

A rising HS senior is foundering in search of post-high-school options.

My younger brother is an unimpressive student who doesn't show much evidence of being able to apply himself. His grades are B's and C's pretty much across the board in both the sciences and humanities. He wasn't making much progress at sports or with a musical instrument, and after a year or two his motivation fades. I have provided him with learning tools for some technical computery stuff, but that hasn't really been paying off either. He likes drawing and sketching, but not intensely, and the complexity of 3D and animation quickly turned him off. Generally, he likes hanging out with friends, riding bikes, watching TV, and playing video games. But what the hell is he going to be doing a year from now? [more inside]
