Nothing's changed with my connection apart from I swapped out the router. So in theory microfilters etc shouldn't come into it as I simply swapped the ADSL cable that went into the back of the old router and put it into the new one. [more inside]
So, I just finished building a new computer and have installed windows, all the driver CDs, etc. Then I went to connect it to the internet so I could install some anti-virus software, download the rest of the drivers, etc and no dice. Internet Explorer has been on thin ice for a while, and recently it crashed through. I can't even launch the damn program. I've installed Firefox and several delicious extensions, but my knowledge is limited in this whole area. How do I get rid of the old plague? [more inside]

I hang my head in shame as I post this, but here goes: in my zealous effort to eliminate browser helper objects on 2 Windows 2000 Pro Dells in our computer lab, I somehow seem to have eliminated IE and Mozilla's ability to browse, as well. I can ping our webserver so I know they can get online, but I keep getting "unable to resolve this (or any other) web page" errors. Do I now have to reinstall IE or wipe the hard drive and reinstall Windows to make this work? Or....
