Looking for simple black heels to go with simple black dress. [more inside]
For far too long I've coveted high-heeled mens shoes of the kind stereotypically worn by Beatles, mods, and (IIRC) many men hundreds of years ago. But just searching randomly for "winklepickers" or "cuban heels" tends to yield shoes that are, well, ugly, and I don't really see many options in stores. This is nice but I don't want boots, really. WHERE can I get, or at least look at, nice examples of men's shoes with some heel on them?
Today at work, I saw a girl with the cutest shoes. I am absolutely kicking myself for not asking her where she got them! Can you help me find them somewhere on the internet? [more inside]
AskMetafilter has some shoe experts. I'd love your help finding comfortable, stylish heels to wear for my wedding and wedding reception. Hit me with your best bridal shoe suggestions! The wedding is a bit rustic and vintage, so if you can think of heels that are a bit different but might work for a formal ceremony, I'd love to hear! [more inside]

I think I may be the most difficult shoe-buyer ever. I want them to be 1) vegetarian (no leather) and 2) actually supportive and good for my knees and feet or able to hold supportive orthotics such that they become that way. This generally gets me a small selection of flat boots, oxfords, and sneakers, with the odd casual/sporty mary-jane thrown in. I'd like to have more than just boots to go with dresses/skirts (particularly for the summer or for really dressy dresses), but I thought it was an impossibility and had moved on with my life. But lo, I just discovered the brand Orthaheel, and they have cute flat vegetarian orthotic sandals! Why oh why did the world hide this brand from me until now?! Do you know of other brands or specific shoes that will expand my shoe cuteness? [more inside]
I can't decide if I'm being unrealistic about my expectations for these shoes. Help me decide, should I try and return them or live with them? Pics of damage from one day of wear included. [more inside]
Can I learn how to walk differently? When I walk, I drag my heels. I always wear Birkenstock sandals, and this way of walking causes my heels to wear away much faster than the rest of the shoe, leading to more frequent (expensive-ish) repairs. Can I train myself to walk another way? I know people do it in necessary times (e.g. loss of limb, spinal cord/brain damage, etc.) but I just WANT to change. Possible?
Is it possible to find high heels that you can actually walk in without blisters? Recently I walked a quarter mile in my Cole Haan Talia Nike Air heels, which are supposed to be better for walking in, but ended up with blisters anyway. Are there any brands of heels that will not give me blisters on my toes or achilles tendon? Or is there some trick to wearing them (e.g. toe socks or corn starch)? I usually go barelegged, not sure if that helps or hurts.
Meow! How do you walk quietly in kitten heels? Something like this or this? Is it a trick of sizing? Of walking a little differently? This would be my go-to style of heel for many occasions... if I can hide the slap-clack slap-clack sound which is a bit too much like $2 Walmart flip-flops.

High Heeled Shoes: I got two pair at TJMaxx recently, same brand - Tahari. On both, my heels kinda slipped out of the back when walking, but I normally put these Dr Scholl's heel liner things on the inside of all my heeled shoes and that fixes that problem. However, this only worked on one pair this time. Please hope me be able to wear these awesome shoes. [more inside]

I need to fix my feet. For as long I can remember, my feet have stuck out (supination.) I have super-high arches - you can barely see the inside portion of my feet on a foot print. I find it nearly impossible to hold my feet together parallel and flat (inner heel to inner heel, big toe to big toe) - they rotate upward and outward, instead. If I manage to get my feet in something close to that position, my toes get goofy, pointing in multiple directions. I want to learn how to straighten my (bare) feet when walking and hold them together, flat, the way I described...
