I recently started a mix of walking and jogging for an hour a day, to help me lose weight. I'm about a hundred pounds overweight and until now have been pretty sedentary. Since I started walking and jogging, I've had aching, tight pains in my shins, ankles and heels. What could be causing this? Is there anything I can do to prevent it from happening? [more inside]

On Monday night, my spouse woke in the middle of the night several times with the distinct feeling of a needle being put into the back of her heel. Looking for potential explanations. [more inside]

The bottom of my left heel, towards the outside edge, is very tender when I get up. Was very bad this morning after jog last night. I've seen videos of plantar fasciitis taping therapy but it doesn't seem to address my area of pain. Am I on the right track? I'd like to avoid the cost of a doctor.

I broke a metatarsal in my foot last September, and (without a follow-up X-ray, which I really should do at some point), it seems better. My heel
, however, hurts like the dickens. What's up, foot? [more inside]

Unfortunately the beautiful ivory and crystal 3 inch pumps I bought for my wedding make my dress too short! I was kind of distressed, but now I'm seeing this as an opportunity to get a little wilder. Wedding colors are red-red and any shade of purple. Please link me any (well, no Chucks please and no flip flops) kind of pretty/sexy low heeled shoes (in ivory, muted gold, red, or purple). Interested in a kitten heel in ivory, but I'm also way more open minded now than I was before. Purple suede laceup Oxford with side cutouts? Sexy red patent kitten pump? Ankle booties? My dress is ivory lace, strapless, floor length. Thank you thank you thank you!

I adopted an awesome dog from the local Humane Society. The dog is a one year old German Shepherd who is very well behaved (doesn't chew, rarely barks, never steals even when freshly cooked cheeseburgers are left unattended, etc) and already knows basic commands like "sit" and "come" and "heel." The only problem is the "heel" - he was obviously trained to heel to the left and I really want him to heel to my right. The question: is it worth the effort to retrain him and if so how do I accomplish this? More details and some photos below the fold. [more inside]

Why do I wear down the heel of my shoes so quickly?
I ground the rubber on the very rear-most part of the sole (slightly to the outside) down to nothing within 4 months on every pair of dress shoes I buy.
Is there anything I can do other than take them for repairs? [more inside]

my right heel hurts all the time
when i put pressure on it, even when i'm sitting down with crossed legs (and the right is the bottom leg). it's a burning awfulness. i suspect it is a bone bruise (last week i put all of my weight on a small pebble, ow), but could it be plantar fascitis
? (i don't exercise.)

I have narrow ankles and fairly "large" feet (I have to wear size 10 shoes in order to have a comfortable fit). But because of my narrow ankles, I am having a hard time finding shoes that fit. I have tried thicker socks, a couple of different lacing techniques etc but nothing seems to help. My heels always move inside the shoes! Please help me!!!
