County Mental Health Center Woes

I suffer from severe anxiety and PTSD, and I have been on benzos for 10 years now (first Xanax and then clonazepam). My insurance limits me to going to the county mental health center, and my psychiatrist there sent down a mandate that I have to stop the clonazepam. I'm frustrated, especially since I was not offered anything different for anxiety. I am mostly upset about poor communication and it’s not so much that I am questioning her judgment from a medical perspective. I am not seeking advice about managing anxiety; I want advice about self-advocacy. [more inside]

Can you suggest resources for a cancer survivor who works with cancer patients?

My SO is a speech therapist/speech pathologist at a major hospital, and her department specializes in cancer patients. This can take a quite a toll on her, but the impact has worsened following her own skin cancer diagnosis last year. I was wondering if there were any books, websites, programs or resources designed to help healthcare providers deal with working with these kinds of cases, and perhaps also ones to deal with dealing with cancer diagnoses. Blarrrgghhhhhhhhh.......

My dept is becoming part of the National Division (home office in Georgia) rather than the Regional Division (where I now work at Regional Division Home Office in PA). I am not physically moving anywhere. My employer is now National Div, even though it is just the parent/umbrella of Regional Div. My insurance carrier will now be BCBS of GA instead of Highmark BS of PA. ADHD is covered by Highmark. It is not by BCBS of GA. I will end up paying about $4000 in out of pocket expenses due to this. Is this legal? What are my options? Supplemental insurance for MH does not exist. I make too much for any state aid and am ineligible for other state MH programs. (there is a TL;DR summary marked as such at the bottom) [more inside]
