After a year of half-assed solo weight lifting. I've decided to take the green's advice and tie my fitness to a specific activity. I'm thinking of joining a rock climbing/crossfit gym in my area. What exercises can someone with cervical disc herniation (c3-c6) do?

After a nightmare MRI experience sometime in 2011 I found out that I have a cervical disc herniation on c3, c4, c5, c6. The pain was so severe that I was unable to move my neck to right side without feeling like I was going to pass out. Now that I've gotten my first coritsone shot and feel alive, I would love to work at gym on strentheting my cervical discs so I can beat this problem and avoid having to marry cortisone shots for the rest of my life. Preventing Bulky Arms

Workout Question - A few years ago I went away from my cardio-only gym routine and added in weight lifting. I did chest press, lat pull downs, shoulder press, etc. I'm a girl, btw. I lost a little weight but now my arms are bulky, not super muscly but just bulkier and sometimes they don't fit in my shirts. I enjoy lifting weights but I feel conflicted about it if my arms are going to continue to get bigger and bigger. My question is - how do I continue to lift weights without my arms getting bulkier and bulkier? I would like to also make my arms less bulky if possible.. Are push-ups a good option?

Ech, you're giving me a coronary!

The "new, state of the art" cardio machines at my gym always tell me my heart rate is unreasonably high (170 beats per minute) even though I'm working at a level where I can still maintain a breathy conversation. Occasionally, the machine will say my heart rate is something totally wacky, like 220. [more inside]
