I've been having a pretty much continuous headache since this past Saturday, with varying degrees of severity, but almost never completely gone (except for short periods of time after taking advil). Shocking waves of pain upon standing after being bent over, unless I move excrutiatingly slowly. YANMD, however, is this something I need to go to see my doctor over, or something simple?

I have been experiencing horrible headaches that I believe to be migraines. Any type of exercise (even mild) is the only potential trigger that I am able to identify. Exercise has been an important part of my life, but for the past few years I am not able to enjoy it as much because in the hours after I stop exercising headaches slowly creep in, and I am then sometimes in debilitating pain for 2-3 days.

Does anyone have experience with infection/disease in the sphenoid sinus? Everything I read online suggests that I have to get this treated IMMEDIATELY or I'll become brain-damaged or dead, and I'm already convinced the former is setting in...

Elimination diet to identify headache triggers: anyone have any experience with this? Why do various plans differ so widely? Are nuts in or out? Herbal tea? Pure maple syrup? Fruit? Rice? No caffeine or regulated caffeine? Do you eat strictly for three weeks or three months before you start adding foods back? Alternatively: are elimination diets unsubstantiated woo? The theory seems sound, but the sources are not confidence-inspiring.

[MedicalFilter] My dad frequently gets a weird pain in his head when he coughs. He has seen several doctors already. I recall reading something about this possibly being jaw-related but cannot remember specifics. Does this sound familiar? Can you help?

The old adage
'No Pain, No Gain' appears intuitive when it comes to developing physical prowess. I only started to see gains in the gym after pushing myself to the point where I'd wake up thinking I'd be crippled for the rest of my life. Is the same true for cognitive improvements too?

Is the theatrical 3D film experience (e.g. 'Monsters vs. Aliens') much better than it used to be? Eyestrain, headaches, nausea used to be what you suffered through in the old red-blue glasses days in order to say you saw a 3D movie...has that gotten good enough now that it's safe to take, e.g., a 7 year old boy to these things?

I have recently stopped taking Citalopram over 10 days, since then I've had a permanent headache which has lasted 4 weeks to date and seen me visit A&E twice. Currently I have been prescribed and am taking : Morphine, Voltarol, CO-codomol and Sodium Valproate which are only providing limited relief. I am also seeing a Neurologist and Psychiatrist who as of yet have failed to diagnose the problem. Has anyone had similar effect ?
If so, what was the diagnosis and resolution ?

I suffer from horrendous sinus headaches. Horrible, nausea-inducing headaches that mimic the migraines I inherited from my mom. However, unlike the migraine I managed to find those blessed blue liquid capsules Sudafed Non-Drowsy Non-Drying - that bring sweet sweet relief within an hour (can you tell I'm suffering now and desperate?) I'm not sure if it's Federal or State, but because of those damn damn meth addicts, they've made these over-the-counter pills, more difficult for drug and grocery stores to carry (behind the counter, sign the form, etc, etc).

Anyone tried Chinese medicine for Migraines?
I am a materialist, I am not interested in mercury being in retrograde, or lead poisoning from ayurvedic medicine, but I can't keep eating tylenol three like they are f-ing red hots, it doesn't help my concentration at all! My materalism does not of course mean that I am entirely concious my own ignorance regarding 99.9999999etc% of the universe around me.
Thanks, PS, if you have any good practitioners in mind in the bay area, i'm all ears.

I'm looking for web resources on migranes -- multi-day, flat-on-your-back monsters, impervious to post-op-level codeine and other serious drugs, that leave you thinking (god forbid) about tumors and such. A friend's ongoing struggle with these is really starting to worry me, even though MRIs haven't shown anything. Of course, any personal stories and/or remedies are welcome as well. Thank you.
