I get migraines from MSG (including many
"hidden sources"), meat cured with nitrates, and red wine (I think tannins or sulfites or something). As long as I avoid those triggers, I'm relatively headache-free. However, I really love red wine. I haven't had it for about 4 years, and I miss it. Are there types of wines that are better than others for keeping headaches at bay? Organic or certain types?

What options are available for children of 5 years with Migraine? Last night my son had his first. I started with them at 5 too, but back then there were to triptans or anything else. I've put the question in to the family doctor and haven't heard back yet, but I'm sure the answer I get will be limited to the Dr's experience and training. So, MeFi, what do you do for your kids when they suffer an attack?

Just before heavy rain/thunderstorms (especially so if lightning is involved) I get incredibly lethargic, fall in and out of sleep, get severe headaches, become panicky and restless and then after the whole spectacle is over, the horrible state I'm in vanishes. Why does this happen, and is there is a good way to treat/prevent it?

I just finished reading All in My Head by
Paula Kamen. Her chronic headache seems to be worsening over time. I have a headache all day every day, but haven't noticed any long term worsening over the roughly 5 years I've had it. Should I worry?
