Who is the author of this quote?

Help me identify the author of this quote:
"It is not hatred that is wrong; it is hating the wrong thing that is wrong. It is not anger that is wrong; it is being angry at the wrong thing that is wrong. Tell me your hatred and I'll tell you your character."

I've been stumped by someone in my house. :) Thanks!

I hate cooking. I need to love it.

I hate cooking. I hate cooking. I really, really, really hate cooking. I need to learn how to love it. I mean, I even get annoyed when I have to slap something frozen on a cookie sheet, and I even very often don't make toast, for God's sake, despite liking it. (No problem with shoving a frozen meal in the microwave, however.)

All that having been said, this massive aversion is a real problem that I want to complete turn around 180 degrees — both for the cachet of it (so few guys cook) and for the simple health of it (eating self-cooked food is going to be much healthier than a near-perpetual diet of delivery, frozen meals, junk food, and fast food.

As best as I can figure this out in my head, I'm essentially asking for two categories of responses here: practical and behavioral.

On one hand, I'm looking for practical tips (both any procedural tips or "kitchen hints" you might have, as well as very-quick-prep healthy recipes) as to how to make cooking (i) extremely low-impact, timewise; (ii) fast and efficient; and (iii) actually fun and not incredibly boring — keeping in mind the level of aversion described above.

On the other hand, I'm looking for behavioral tips. (I wouldn't be surprised if this angle of the question has been asked before in other Ask Mefis with other things people detest but have to do — but I wasn't sure how to frame the search in order to dig them up.) If you hate to do something, but it's necessary that you not only overcome the hate but transmute it to enthusiasm, what steps do you take?

I find cooking an extremely annoying obstacle to doing other things that I want to do, and I find that I'm incredibly bored while I do it and that something deep within me just frames the whole thing as a immensely boring, massive waste of time. How do I change that gut emotional response? I need to start to actually like this stuff.

Thanks, guys.

Stopping the hate

How can you stop yourself from hating someone? I have never felt this way in my life before and I fear that it is damaging to my mental and physical well being. I also need to be strong for others affected by this person, and I'm not doing a good job of it.

I don't want advice about how to forgive this person. There is no way of doing that currently, as the pain this person is causing is likely to continue. I am not ready to forgive.

I just want advice about any techniques or strategies I could use to try to stop the intense hatred I feel. I realise that me hating this person does not harm them in any way. I realise that it harms me and might even hinder my attempts to deal with this person's actions in a practical way.

Any suggestions for practical self-help techniques that I could use to overcome this would be very welcome.

DIY frustration

How do I align the splitter on my new table saw? I just recently purchased my first table saw. The instructions have been
less than helpful, though I did figure most of it out. However, I can't
seem to align the splitter. The instructions are very specific that you
NEED to have the splitter aligned, but don't say how. As far as I can tell,
there isn't anything to adjust, it sits on two screws and nothing can be
moved/changed. Am I missing something?

If it helps, it's a Pro-Tech 10" table saw (model cs4207, which doesn't seem to exist according to google.), Bought at Menards about 5 months ago.

What's the best thing your community has done to deal with hatred and violence?

What's the best thing your community (interpret this as widely or narrowly as you like) has done to deal with hatred and violence? Over the last couple of months, Toronto has witnessed what seems like an exceptionally bad bout of internecine violence within "the black community" (problematic phrase, yada yada), a spate of vandalism and grave desecration directed at Jews, and a reaction against Arabs. I don't want to talk about specifics here (there's a certain notorious MeFi thread for that). I'm interested to know how other communities have dealt with this - whether it's jonmc burying the hatchet with skallas, or or the U.S. helping Europe via the Marshall plan.
