I had a 5 year old dell desktop that died due to motherboard malfunction about a year ago. I removed the hard drive and am attempting to retrieve the data from it. [more inside]

I have a Mac, my friend has a PC, we want to share music with an external hard drive. However, upon connecting the hard drive to his PC we discovered that the hard drive is formatted for a Mac, so we can't access the drive without reformatting and losing all the files. Is there a program that retrieves info without having to reformat?
