I have very, very fine hair. Silky, almost baby-fine. My mother has been offering to get me high-end keratin extensions because she said there are areas where the hair is very sparse. I have heard only disastrous things about extensions, but am very open (hopeful even) to hearing otherwise. Can you give me feedback? Which methods were less damaging? Was it worth it? [more inside]

I understand that hair straightening irons damage your hair, but currently I'm having to use a hairdryer to get my hair into any semblance of socially acceptable appearance anyway. Might the proper hair straightener, used with the right protective oils and techniques, at least do less (or about the same) amount of damage? If so, what one(s) should I consider? [more inside]
I'm beginning to use hair product for the first time. I have fine hair and all the stuff I've used so far just weighs my hair down and makes it look greasy and dirty. Any recommendations for hair products for short fine hair? I'm looking for something that will make my hair stay in place and not flip up.
