What kind of gum will keep both my mouth and my tummy happy?

I like to chew sugarless gum on occasion to keep from mindlessly snacking. My GI system would prefer that I don't, and gives me gas and some...other stuff. Is there a brand of gum that causes fewer GI symptoms? Another gum-like substance that can occupy my mouth for a few hours now and then?

That Clean ...Risky?! Chew

I need to get more fit. Part of it has to be done by controlling my intake. I've had success in the distant past with gum. But now I'm worried about the non-sugar sweeteners that most use - sorbitol and xylitol. Should I be? [more inside]

Removing chewing gum from leather

So I managed to get gum on my shoe yesterday. Normally I would just scrape it off, but in this case it's on the top of the leather shoe, not on the sole. I did some googling and saw advice to freeze the item with gum on it and other advice to use a hairdryer to heat the gum. One page suggested peanut butter. Since these seem like contradictory bits of advice, I'm here asking: Have you ever tried to remove gum from leather? What worked? Since it's the top of the shoe I'd like to have it look ok when I'm done.

I need some small, square/rectangular, rainbow-colored candies.

I'm trying to recreate this rainbow mosaic cake (by Cakes of Our Lives in Melbourne), and need candies for the sides. The best US possibility I've found is these rainbow tropical gum tabs from Sweetworks/Oak Leaf, but they seem to be available online only in bulk quantities, for use in mall gumball machines and the like. I need suggestions for either (1) other ways to source those chiclets (for instance, anyone know a large brick-and-mortar candy emporium that might be able to do a one-off mail order?), or (2) alternative brightly-colored square/rectangular candies that I could use to create the same effect. Does passive tooth eruption exist?

I have had some years of gum issue - a few grafts, etc. Despite taking pretty good care of my teeth I am seemingly just cursed. I recently saw a new perio person and they said for most of my mouth it was actually "passive eruption" that only a little bit towards the back of my mouth has actual recession/ gum disease issues. Gum trauma causes painful white blister?

About 6 days ago I was brushing my teeth and I jammed the plastic edge of my toothbrush hard against my lower right-hand outside gum. There wasn't any blood, but in the days since, some sort of white blister has developed and is sensitive to the touch. It looks like a short (inch-long) line along my gum where the toothbrush hit. Any ideas how long this will take to go away, and if there's anything I can do to speed that up? Thanks!

Where did the gum wrapper go?

Gum wrappers. Where did they go? I've got a gum wrapper chain (about 30-40 feet right now) that I used to work on during particularly boring conference calls. It was a great distraction - easy to start and stop, great as an office conversation piece. Here's the problem. Wrigley doesn't seem to make gum wrappers anymore! Instead of the 2-part packaging (wrapper + foil) that was once standard, now they just use foil. No wrappers = no gum wrapper chain. So how do I find more wrappers? Are there any non-Wrigley gum manufacturers out there that still use wrappers? I've check EBay, but the majority of offerings there seem to be for vintage wrappers. I'm just looking for the standard kind.

Aversion to Eating Noises

How do I remove adhesive residue from a graphite pool cue?

I got a beautiful graphite pool cue for Christmas, but someone (not the gift giver) put a sticker on the shaft that has left a terrible gummy adhesive residue. How do I go about removing the residue without damaging the finish or the shaft itself? Google doesn't have all that much to say-- mostly companies selling professional adhesive removers. I have heard that WD-40 or nail polish remover would work, but would either hurt the cue? Thanks.
