My Guitar Hero drum's kick pedal is dead. I looked online but there are a
lot of options and mixed reviews for most of what I found.
What's the best mix of frugality and "not going to die on me"-ality that I can find? I'm not opposed to buying an entire new set if that makes more sense.

Guitarfilter - my son has a 3/4 scale acoustic steel-string guitar, and he wants some new strings. I'm a bit of a guitarist myself, so I know how to change them no problem, but before bebopping down to the local guitar shop, I'm curious - what gauge strings are best?

I have been thinking about getting a
tonerite for guitar. I have no doubt that they work, but don't really wanna spend $150.00. I am trying to think of a less expensive, but suitable substitute that will vibrate the instrument in the same way. I am thinking an aquarium aerator with its tiny motor may fit the bill. Tell me how wrong I am and why. Any other ideas for a sub for the tonerite?

Please recommend slide blues guitar artists to me, particularly modern ones. Love the sound, not sure where to get it. Solo guitar with no vocals is preferred, but by no means necessary. Acoustic strongly preferred.

I'm trying to get my guitar/synth configuration working -- a project I've been at for YEARS. I finally have everything but still cannot get it to work. I
think I need the right cable configuration (from the pedal to the synthesizer) to connect my Hagstrom Patch 2000 guitar and pedal to my Arp Odyssey III. But I'm not sure what that configuration is.

LongShotFilter: I once was in a music store in Northern California and while waiting for a friend I picked up a mini acoustic guitar which was selling for around $75-150 (I think) in order to pass the time. To my great surprise, I loved the feel and sound of this cheap small guitar, and would have bought it at the time but was broke. Now I need to find it again...

Some guy is selling a guitar that belongs to me on his website, in Dallas. I am in Los Angeles. The guitar has been missing since 2005, when a con-man borrowed it from me who subsequently sold it to pay off the mafia or something. I didn't realize I had been duped for a long time. I was stupid and shouldn't have trusted him. He was impossible to get a hold of and strung me along for months and disappeared but I didn't file a police report because I didn't think they'd be able to find the guitar. Now I just want the guitar back, and I know I have the legal right to it. So what do I do? file a civil suit? call the police in Dallas?

I've been playing acoustic guitar for a bunch of years now (and am so-so at it). I really like those transitional moments between chords -- stuff you can throw in to make just strumming along a bit more interesting; things like the turnaround in Alice's Restaurant, but even really simple things like -- starting on a D chord and leading on the low e string 0-2-3 to get to a G chord. What are your favorite little phrases like those? Or, alternatively, do those have an official name I can google? Or, alternatively alternatively, any good websites or books for that kind of thing? Oh -- I mostly play with a pick, so I'm more interested in phrases you can play that way.

wikipedia ).
I'm trying to record the rhythm for a song I like, have it loop and then freestyle the solo on my guitar, all through my computer.

Guitarfilter? I have a Charvel Surfcaster from the mid-90s that I need to sell. While I could just put it on ebay and see who's looking, I live in New York and figure there must be great local dealers who would be interested. Any New York guitar playing mefites who can recommend a good place to check with? Any luck selling your own gear?
