A guitar and a bottleneck. Amplifier optional.

There are a couple of scenes in the 1986 Walter Hill film Crossroads in which Eugene's character plays some really bluesy, laid-back, heavily-reverbed slide guitar. I really love this kind of blues guitar. Unaccompanied (by vocals or other instruments), haunting, chilled-out. Can you recommend similar performances? [more inside]

Acoustic Slide Blues Guitar

Please recommend slide blues guitar artists to me, particularly modern ones. Love the sound, not sure where to get it. Solo guitar with no vocals is preferred, but by no means necessary. Acoustic strongly preferred.

Name That Tune :: PBS ThirteenHD Promo

Name that tune please :: PBS is great, and the songs in their promos are actually just as good. Currently running is a promo that ends with the words; "Be More ~ ThirteenHD" (this is PBS Thirteen's High-Def channel which they broadcast in NYC & possibly elsewhere?). The music which accompanies it is a piece that I'd classify as sort of a Blues/Rock/Jazz instrumental. My Question: Name that tune!?! [more inside]

In Bob Dylan's book Chronicles, Vol. 1 he describes an esoteric numerological scheme for playing guitar, saying most melodies are based on the number 2, but that he's taken it to the next level by choosing what to play based on the number 3. Can anyone explain what he is talking about? [more inside]
