Using ten days to prepare for an online course, then acing it?

I’m about to start a six-month-long online course that I'd like to do really well on. The next ten days are very quiet at work. How can I use this time to help myself prepare, given that I’ll need to be in the office for part of each of the ten days...and then keep up with the course while going back to full-time teaching? After years of frustration, help me find the planner I really want.

Daily Planner Question: need a two-page-per-day, "classic" (5 1/2 x 8 1/2) size. Have used DayTimer and Franklin (Covey) alternately for years. Standard packages from both either have extraneous materials that I don't need renewed each year or force me to order a base package that is insufficient and supplement it with specific things a la carte, driving up the price. Details inside. Suggestions? [more inside]

Buying a nicely-made desktop tickler file system

I am looking for a desktop tickler/pass-forward file system that's really *classy* and well-made from quality materials, not the typical wire-basket-with-manila-folders that most places sell.

Where can I buy the world's most amazing index cards?

Index card quest! I'm looking for a very particular kind I've seen in the past: a small (smaller than standard 3"-by-5", like 2"-by-1"!), possibly pastel-colored set of cards that come on a single, small binder ring (not spiral-bound!) and are enclosed in a plastic cover (not a fabric one!), almost certainly with a snap. Specific to-do list needs.

I am looking for any online task list/calendar that meets the following criteria: 1)sync with Palm/using WinXP; 2)supports categories; 3)supports recurrence; 4)(preferably) has some way to be integrated into my Wordpress website. (Robust goal management would be a plus). I have tried Yahoo, but it does not support recurrent tasks and I find the auto-add of Y! Messenger contacts to be intrusive and annoying.

How to most efficiently reorganize a filing system?

I am looking for a resource or advice on organizing files and folders on a shared hard drive. I am faced with 12 GB of files that need to be reorganized - many files and folders are out-of-date, irrelevant, or obsolete, and many were created by people who no longer work at my company for projects that are no longer active. I'm hoping to hear about a strategy that helps me methodically organize all of this data, archiving what's no longer needed and coming up with an intuitive filing system for what is. [more inside]
