Hallmark University

To those of you with greeting card aspirations: my mom works at a small college and has been tasked with coming up with a message for birthday cards that will be sent from the president to all school employees through out the year. Last year, I wrote this for her at it went over well. But frankly, I can't think of anything at the moment.

I want to wish you the best for your birthday, and thank you for your contributions to Metafilter College. The success of our school relies on the efforts of many people, and I am glad that you are part of our team. Enjoy your special day.

The president is very buttoned up, and the school is in a quasi-rural, conservative area of the US.

Merry Fucking Christmas Cards

Where can I buy legitimately funny, sarcastic and/or offensive Christmas Cards? After seeing the greeting cards that The Onion are selling, I was wondering who else out there sells the best greeting cards in the same sarcastic/witty/snarky vein. I'm not looking for cute-funny, obviously-shocking-funny, or geek-funny. In other words, smart but unpretentious, sometimes twisted and sarcastic humor.

The style of card I'm looking for should appeal to someone who is a huge fan of things like The Onion, Chunklet Magazine, McSweeney's, etc.

Hi there!

If someone who knows your name greets you by not using your name, is that rude and/or disrespectful? Example: Co-worker come in. S/he walks down aisle at cube farm. Says "Hi Biff, Hi Muffy." To me: "Good morning." Am I being too sensitive? I tend to use folks first names if I know them. So I'd greet you by saying "Good morning, [your name here]. Are they saying 'Hey, you are not really registering on my radar screen."

What are some of your favorite ways to say "hello" and "bye"? (to greet friends that you already know, I'm not looking for pick-up lines)

Question number 12607

Ok, who is offended by "Happy Holidays" replacing "Merry Christmas"? If you are, could you please give reason why? I'm trying to understand the mentality here, and not celebrating Christmas myself (well, other than getting a federal holiday out of it) I can't see the reason why anyone would.
