I'm a 25-year-old female with thick, dark curly hair. Every now and then I see a single gray hair making its way through. I hadn't seen any for awhile, then tonight I noticed a silvery strand near my temple. Is this normal? [more inside]

Is there any difference between Franciscans and Gray/Grey Friars? I'm working on a translation for them and want to make sure I don't make a blunder due to sheer ignorance of their ways on my part. Thanks! [more inside]

My head hair is brown with wisps of grey at the temples. My facial hair is salt/pepper. I would really like some way of colouring my head hair grey. I know that greying is colour loss which is difficult to mimic. I am not interested in repeated temporary solutions as might be used in theatres. I would like something similar to the semi-permanent hair dyes and going to a hair salon for this would be fine.
Reason? Why not - it's just another colour. Or lack of it.
Upkeep would not be an issue if the result was good. Does such a process / product exist? Thanks.

Hi there -
Some years ago, I was working at a high end outdoor clothing store (think Patagonia, Arc'teryx, Marmot - etc.) and we had a Japanese gentleman who came in 1-2 times a season and usually cleaned us out of one particular style (usually men's Patagonia jackets) - therefore, we came to refer to him as "Gray Market Guy".
I've always been curious, is there any real money to be made in doing this? [more inside]

My wife has a shiny new unibody Macbook. We have observed a bizarre display bug. The bug is intermittent and temporary. What happens is that the contents (or some of the contents) of the front window will appear in grayscale. Resizing or scrolling the window, or clicking on an element in the window, will usually make it go away. This happens in all kinds of apps: the Finder, Safari, InDesign, etc. It happens on an external screen and the laptop's own screen (with or without the external hooked up). [more inside]
