I need to make a Photoshop CS action/droplet that I can use to batch convert many dozens of mid-res b&w images. I've tried this a few times but my droplets end up doing 1 file fine and then nothing. [mi]

So, I received Half-Life 2 / Counter-Strike:Source as a gift, and I think it's time to upgrade my system. I'm fairly good with homebuilding computers, but the new graphics card offerings have me a bit confused. [+]

I am working on a project involving some 3d programming (in AutoLisp), and have managed to muddle through with what I remember of university geometry. I run into basic geometry problems (i.a.: find the 3d point where 2 lines intersect, given only the start points, angles and slope of the lines) which I manage to laboriously and clumsily solve. I'm sure most of these problems have 'canonical' solutions, worked out by graphic programmers. Is there any online resource for algorithms and formulas for typical 3d programming problems?
A good, simple explanation of the theory (and application in 3d graphics) of transformation matrixes would be nice, too.

Best videocard for my buck? I picked up Doom 3 only to find my poor geforce 3 isn't cutting the mustard. Most web reviews are outdated or deal with pricey cards. What's the best card for my dollar? Extra points if its under 100 bucks and works with the older AGP slot.

Red means stop....or does it? I'm developing an icon set for a web application, and I'm looking for indicators to mean "not yet started," "in progress," and "completed." My inclination is to go with red, yellow, green, but my experience with traffic lights seems to indicate that green (you haven't started, so go), yellow, and red (you're done, so stop) might be more logical. Anyone have any suggestions on which would be more intuitive?

I need to create some charts (as in bar-, pie-, etc.) for a presentation. I have used Excel (easy but boring), Illustrator and Freehand (slightly more complicated and exciting) for this in the past, but want to expand my repertoire. Are there any really snazzy looking, easy to use charting apps for XP?
