I'm finishing a master's program in the next few weeks and I'm feeling horrible about my experience acquiring it. I did a 2 and a half year accelerated nursing program that led into a master's to become a
nurse practitioner. I am really excited about the field and looking forward to where the degree can take me, but the last year and a half (the master's portion) of the process was so emotionally damaging I'm not sure how to move on!

I badly bungled my Political Science undergrad program, graduating with a GPA in the low 3's and a non-honours degree. I want to go to grad school in the same field. What are my options? (I'm in Canada).

I've been out of work for a number of years, by choice, staying at home to raise my kids. I have a Bachelor's in Education with a minor in English from back in 19mumblemumbleyear, and even if it were up-to-date, my life has taken a different turn, and I don't feel that teaching is for me any more. With this kind of background, if I don't teach, I am pretty much, as one of my English teachers once put it, an "educated un-employable."
What further education do I need to be taken seriously as I re-enter the workforce?

Does anyone have recommendations for graduate electrical engineering programs in northeast Massachusetts or southern NH? They would need to be night/weekend based and if there are online classes available that would be even better (but at a brick & mortar, legitimate universities).

I'm about a year off from Grad school, and I'm beginning to look around for good places to go. I'm a bit of a dinosaur, however, and am very interested in existential religion and am interested in studying a kind of... ontological foundationalism whereas the focus will be how man establishes and functions through his sense of being/meaning in the world.

As a doctoral student, how do you maintain friendships with non-academics? With all the lab work and time that goes into research, there isn't a lot of time for fun. And it seems that friends and family don't always understand it - especially for first-generation students from places where not everyone goes to college. Have any of you had this experience? What's hard about maintaining relationships with friends and family -- and how do you cope?

Are you generally able to apply courses taken for a M.S. at one school for credit in another school's PhD program if you're doing a B.S. -> M.S. -> PhD? For more specifics, we're talking Computer Science, and more specifically, to apply for Stanford's PhD program (or another reputable US university).
