Does an internal GPS device for tracking a laptop exist?

What I'm looking to find out is if there is an internal GPS device which can go in an empty slot in my laptop in order to track it should it be stolen? I found some services here (some links work, some don't), but I think they all use WiFi as a way of tracking, which, correct me if I'm wrong, would be a problem for me in rural parts of Asia. How to upgrade in-car navigation system?

How to upgrade in-car navigation system? We have a 2008 Toyota Landcruiser which came with in-built satnav. An upgrade disc here in New Zealand will cost $800!! This seems like a ridiculous rip-off. You could buy half of the roads in New Zealand for less than $800 ;-) Does anyone know how to upgrade in-car nav systems? My parents had the same problem with their old Jaguar...

Getting it all in a single cheap cell phone, with a single cheap cell phone plan. Possible?

I have an old cell phone. I have a old digital camera. I have a simple mp3 player. I want GPS. I currently pay $60/month for unlimited calling (but no data) on my Tmobile plan. Can I get all or most of these things on one cell phone without spending much (or anything) on a new phone, and without paying anymore a month? [more inside]

What GPS works best in a Pacific paradise?

I'm going to be doing remote fieldwork in the Pacific. If you've done remote fieldwork, what GPS did you use and how did you obtain the right maps for it? I've been looking at Garmin and Trimble, but I'd be very interested to hear from mefites what they think would cut the mustard.

North by Northwest

I want an iPhone app that will allow me to get back to where I've been using the GPS, Compass and (optionally) mapping software. Essentially, I would bookmark places I want to return to. Then, to get back to them, I can just open the app, hit the bookmark and it tells me which direction to travel and how far to go. [more inside]

Zoomable GPS

Zoomable GPS: my last car had built in nav that I never used for finding locations, but found real useful for exploring & driving in unfamiliar areas - I'd just turn it on and use it as a live moving map. Now I have a new car with no nav so I'm shopping for a system, but the ones I've seen in Target appear to be more oriented to route finding and don't have a very good perspective/ too high a zoom level for assessing the surroundings on the move. Is there one available that I can use for exploring in this way?

Does arm swing affect the accuracy of a GPS sports watch while running?

I'm training for a marathon and I use a Garmin GPS watch. I'm wondering: of course it transmits to the satellites as I move forward; but does the fact that my arm (with the watch attached) moves back and forth - as opposed to my entire body moving forward as a single unit - have anything to do with the accuracy? I apologize in advance if this sounds vague or else is even irrelevant.
