I'd like to purchase an aftermarket radio for my Ford Freestyle. I purchased an eclipse radio 4 years ago but it has turned into an epic POS. I'd like the following features:
-ability to plug in my iPhone to play podcasts and Pandora etc
-xm would be nice, but the other features are more important
I researched my last radio and got the worst POS imaginable. So your suggestions are welcome. I'd be ecstatic if I could find something that functioned at this point.

I'm looking for information regarding the feasibility of a hidden GPS tracking system for bicycles. The goal is to track/recover stolen bicycles. This
product looks promising (if it was actually available), but also looks like it would be easy to spot/remove. Ideally it should be able to be inserted into the frame tubing so it could be installed in various types of bikes. This is for a community wide effort with local law enforcements cooperation.
Has anyone heard of this being done before? Either on an individual level, or better yet a community Implementation of some kind.

Are there any great (or even good) hiking specific GPS apps for iPhone? Ideally, I'd be able to download a particular region of maps, enter and set waypoints, and show the distance and direction from my current location to a previously defined waypoint. Current speed and time to waypoint would be nice, but not necessary. The app must work without an internet connection. [more inside]

Am I the only one having trouble with iOS 5 location-based reminders being really, really inconsistent? (I live in rural Japan, for what it's worth, and have my home address stored in Japanese in my "my information" contact entry) And what, if anything, can I do to make it work more consistently at a bare minimum?

This is the only thing I miss from my Android phone. On my Android phone, I could hold the search key and say, out loud, "navigate to 123 main street" or "navigate to the nearest drugstore" or "navigate to John's house" ... and Google Nav would open and begin navigating.
Does anything voice-activated like that exist for iPhone? [more inside]

I'd like to take my smartphone (HTC Hero) with me when I'm cycling and use it as a trip computer. Problem: I'm nervous that I'll be taking it home in pieces. Are there any smartphone bike mounts that will secure my Hero to the bike as well as protect it in the event that I crash?

What interesting things can I do with my geotagged travel photos? I took about 600 pictures while spending 4 days walking around Rome. Besides dumping them into Picasa/Google Earth, are there any cool applications I can use to play with the photos and the metadata?

I will be traveling from Utah to British Columbia with my family and visiting the area for two weeks. I want to use a GPS and am not sure whether to get 1) a bluetooth GPS receiver, coupled to one of our idevices, 2) a cheap Android phone, or 3) a standalone automobile GPS. [more inside]

I used to have an app on my Nokia E71 that would allow me to set waypoints and then provide a distance and bearing back to that position using the phone's built-in GPS. You could store thousands of GPS waypoints, either by using your current location or by entering long-lat; and organise waypoints into groups. There was no need for any data access. Does something like this exist on Android (HTC Desire)? What I'm not
looking for is an offline SatNav program like CoPilot or MobileNavigator.

What I'm looking to find out is if there is an internal GPS device which can go in an empty slot in my laptop
in order to track it should it be stolen? I found some services here
(some links work, some don't), but I think they all use WiFi as a way of tracking, which, correct me if I'm wrong, would be a problem for me in rural parts of Asia. [more inside]

How to upgrade in-car navigation system? We have a 2008 Toyota Landcruiser which came with in-built satnav. An upgrade disc here in New Zealand will cost $800!! This seems like a ridiculous rip-off. You could buy half of the roads in New Zealand for less than $800 ;-) Does anyone know how to upgrade in-car nav systems? My parents had the same problem with their old Jaguar...
