I'm looking for a (cheap) tracking device that is independent of cellphone signals, and preferably allows for contact. The device should work in Mexico. [more inside]
I recently bought one of those Tile things to find your lost keys, things, etc, and they do mention putting one on your pet's collar as a use-case. It's all bluetooth, so I assume it's only good for ~30ft or so away, but I can't find any reviews of it (or similar things) online. Has anyone ever used one with an outdoor cat? Does it work reliably? [more inside]
In addition to the well known sites for tracking Planes and Ships I've recently discovered I can track SHARKS! What other things can be tracked on the internet? I'm specifically keen to see sites with a map of the world (or I suppose a more local region if that is appropriate) with all the things moving around in real time, but any aggregation of real world data would also be interesting.
I’m looking for a reasonably priced (GPS?) device that will remotely track an object's whereabouts and share that info with the public, online or via smartphone. [more inside]

What inexpensive GPS receiver can I use to log my cross-country, 1-2 month motorcycle trip? I won't have a computer with me, and I'd also like to be able to use it for some basic mapping. [more inside]
What I'm looking to find out is if there is an internal GPS device which can go in an empty slot in my laptop in order to track it should it be stolen? I found some services here (some links work, some don't), but I think they all use WiFi as a way of tracking, which, correct me if I'm wrong, would be a problem for me in rural parts of Asia. Asking for a friend: What is a good GPS system with some form of parental tracking? [more inside]
I'm looking for a GPS system for the fleet at my business. We have 6 trucks and run a small service company. I'm having a hard time finding what I need. [more inside]

What are useful/fun/collaborative things that can be done with a PDA, computer and a small GPS device these days?
We got crapped on this tax season, so I'm looking for a better way to track my business miles. I always forget to write down trips in the mileage log, so I think an automated GPS system might work better for me. Any suggestions? [more inside]
I'm looking for software for my Windows Mobile smartphone + bluetooth GPS brick that will let people log in to a web site and see my current location (preferably in google maps). [more inside]
I would like to disable the Enhanced 911 feature of my cell phone that broadcasts my position continually via GPS tracking. As my phone doesn't allow me to turn this feature off through the settings, how can I modify the circuit to bypass the GPS transmitter?
