I have been tasked with finding a web solution for a volunteer group associated with a university. There are already pages on one of the departments' websites, however, it will be months before any changes can be made to that as it's under the rule of a CMS which is about to be migrated and to which we won't be able to really do anything until November. We want all the usual stuff like a blog and a Twitter widget and latest news and yadda yadda, but anything we add - and possibly anything we remove - would have to wait till November if we use the existing hosting arrangement. This is why I want to stick up another web infrastructure for us somewhere else, probably not hosted by the university. [more inside]

I want to know why in Google Hangout it no longer says "Theirname is typing..." when the other person in the hangout is typing in the chat window (or "Theirname has entered text" when they've written something but haven't sent it). It's gone, and I miss it and want an explanation so I can move on with my life. [more inside]

Can I get my daughter's Google email account back? She has had her full name as her gmail address since she was a toddler (her uncle picked up her full name early on.) They offered g+ to her and she attempted to sign up. Because she was honest about her age (under 13) they froze her account! What complications will there be if I use my credit card to verify the account? (one of three options to unfreeze.)
