I'd like to use Google Now voice commands to easily add household expenses to a shared spreadsheet. I can't work out if this is possible (yet). What can I do instead?
I have a spreadsheet that has students’ names and their class schedules. We want to be able to email the class schedule to the students using an email mail merge. I am willing to use Excel/Word or Google Docs/Sheets. I think I have figured out how to use a directory mail merge in Word to print the schedules, but we really need to email the schedules to the students instead of print them. [more inside]
The company I work for is starting to use Google Docs more frequently. I'd like to jump in with both feet. One of the things I'm most interested in is getting up to speed on using Google Apps Script as an end user who makes frequent but basic use of macros in Excel (so not so much as a developer or other high skill user). What are the best learning resources for this? Books, online tutorials, webinars, etc. anything is fine, just trying to figure out where to begin.
What's the word for when a website's malfunctioning makes you feel trapped and panic-achey in your hands and arms? For example, right now any Google Spreadsheet is stuck "Working..." and I can't get cells to update even though I can type in them. I'm using e-claustrophobia as a working word, but is there another name for this?
Why does Google Docs constantly remain offline even though my other internet functions continue without a problem? [more inside]
I want to be able to input a form's worth of data/information into a Google form I have created and still be able to export and view the data in individual readable forms, even for long paragraphs of text. I have failed at Googling this issue. Am I asking the impossible, or am I just failing at search? If I'm asking the impossible, what program or not-crazy kludge would make this possible? Our organization uses a Google form to sign up new members. I want to set up our website so that www.OurURL.org/join redirects to that Google doc. Is this possible? What is this functionality called? How do you go about setting it up?
I've got a kid enjoying high school theater, and I'd like to help. My skills do NOT run to hammers or sewing machines, but I can work Chrome / Google Docs / databases like a pro. The costume designer is wishing for a way to track student measurements, costume notes, and pictures / photos in some sort of online / app format for going to fabric stores and keeping track of sewing progress. She's coveting an iPad mini to use with it, so I guess an app would be fine. I'd prefer a Chrome / Google Doc option, because I'm cheap. LOVE to hear from costume designers / wardrobe coordinators who've figured this out. Extra credit points for people who know how to create a costume database for completed costumes after the shows.
As an experiment in avoiding Word, I decided to do our last couple of proposals in Google Docs. It wasn't the worst experience I've ever had, but Docs seems to have one quirk that is driving me nuts. Wondering if it's just me or somebody else has dealt with this and has a solution. [more inside]
Math-filter: I have a line chart in Google Docs that plots three columns of data over time. Data in the first two columns ranges from 0-1000, but data in the third column ranges from 3-9. I'd like to "scale" Line 3 (maybe this is the wrong word?) to be able to compare its value over the same graph space as Lines 1 and 2. [more inside]
I'm teaching a basic accounting class in a local university this coming semester and would like to integrate more technology into the class so as to foster student learning. I'm trying out a (somewhat) flipped approach to teaching this semester, and am looking to several Google services in doing so. A lot of this is going to be experimental, as this is my first time to do this. So, on a more general level, I'd appreciate any tips/secrets/best practices you can share with me about using Google Forms, Google Spreadsheets, or Google Sites (whether you think it's relevant to a classroom setting or not). Under the fold, two more (specific) questions about Forms and Spreadsheets. [more inside]

Would the Chromebook be right for me as a writing device? I'm looking to replace my old netbook I use for writing with something more swish and it looks to fit the bill, however I'm not a Google Docs user - how easy is it to transition to from using OpenOffice/Word? How well does the local storage/offline working option work? How easy is it to export Word files and how well does formatting carry over? Is there anything else i need to know?

I like to write using google docs. I used to have a functioning bookmark that was a one-step to new doc solution, which I loved, because it was simple, and efficient. Some time ago that bookmark stopped working, and now it's a matter of several mouse clicks. This is a very small matter, but if someone has a one step solution they care to share, well, that would be delightful.
I'm helping someone setup google apps for a small biz. Already signed up for google apps and bought the domain name through google (enom.com). Need help building a document repo out of GDocs and redirecting the main domain (example.com and www.example.com) to a website hosted on an outside hosting server. [more inside]

Please recommend for me a new search tool to replace Google Desktop. Ideally I want something that searches the full text of all files, that covers everything on my hard drive plus Google Docs. I want it to be fast, offer results in context, and have a simple interface that offers 'sort by relevance' and 'sort by date.' I use Ubuntu. [more inside]

In Excel (or Google Docs) is there away to divide the value in a cell by the number of cells selected? So if I have a value of x and I then highlight 10 cells, each of the 10 cells would show x divided by 10. As I select less cells, the value in each cell increases because x is being divided by less. The main reason I want to do this is to show how much I'd need to save per month to reach a specific total.
I'm getting very frustrated with how Google Docs handles large documents. The larger the document, the slower it seems to get. What have your experiences been with alternatives to Google Docs? Which would you recommend? [more inside]
