Google Apps used to be free when you only required a single email account with your own domain, using this App Engine trick. Does it still work?
This is one of those questions that seems like it should be so simple, but for some reason we can't figure it out. What is the best practice so all our staff can have shared calendars from their primary calendar and invite each other to events as an office, without creating a multitude of 'duplicate' events? Is there a way to have an employee's email forwarded to another email in our business domain, at the admin level? Google Apps. [more inside]
This is pretty frustrating, but maybe its just me. I set up a blog through Google's Blogger two years ago. I also purchased a domain name for it from Google back then. Its been charging my credit card the past two years no problem. But now I have a new credit card and I want to update the billing info accordingly. So I login to the email I used to set up the blog. There is something called My Accounts but I don't see credit card info there. From email that Google sent me in previous billings, it says I should go to the Google Admin Console with a link provided. Ok, so i click the link and it... [more inside]
Is there anything MS Excel does that LibreOffice doesn't that an undergrad econ major is likely to have to do? I am not asking about esthetics. I know one is prettier. Is there a crucial missing capability? Likewise Google Sheets. Anything important missing? Or, something that just works so differently as to be crazy making? [more inside]
I want to use Google Apps Script to detect when certain cells in my Google Sheet are changed, and write a timestamp in another cell to denote when they were changed. I can't use the NOW() function because it gets re-evaluated every time the sheet is calculated. I need a more permanent timestamp. [more inside]
I am not a developer but I am a Google Apps for Education administrator. I've had a few emails saying, "A number of deprecated Google Apps APIs will be shut down on April 20th, 2015". I've read and reread and turned myself inside reading but I am not sure what to do. [more inside]

I have several google apps accounts with email inboxes for each. On my Firefox toolbar I have bookmarks for each of those email accounts in the usual format https://mail.google.com/a/yourdomain.com with my different domains substituted for yourdomain.com of course. Up until yesterday each one of those bookmarks dutifully opened the inbox of the right domain's email account... [more inside]
I'm trying to work out if I can set google apps for non-profits up if the organisation is a US non-profit but the particular users that would use google apps are a chapter based in the UK? I don't believe we hold non-profit status in the UK, probably because we're a chapter of a parent US organisation rather than anything stand-alone. [more inside]
We use the free Google Apps at our non-profit for about 5 heavy users who have hit storage limits, 30 light and another 30+ who need to access our Google Drive and other domain-limited sites. Previously we switched heavy users to a new account with access to the previous account, plus forwards as a work-around. Google's helpdesk says upgrade only as we're non-US. Does anyone have a better solution? We use Google spreadsheets and several marketplace apps, and otherwise are super-happy with Google but $4000/annually is a big upgrade bill!
Why can't I sign up for google apps with the domain I own? Weird troubleshooting loop, I'm probably doing something wrong that is really obvious. [more inside]
Our non-profit [a Quaker Meeting] is looking to expand our online offerings, both internally--for our members and attenders [private forums, and possibly more real-time social features], and also a more friendly and informative public-facing website than we have now. Any of the solutions should be easy to administer for people with middling to pretty good internet/computer knowledge. We are looking at Google Apps for non-profits, but so far, I'm finding their Google Groups a pretty poor approximation of a web forum. So I'd like to know what other options may be out there for us. We'd ideally like a full-featured suite of products that can grow with us, but if we build something piecemeal, are probably most interested in first having a user-friendly but robust forum. Free is ideal, inexpensive could be considered, based on features. We are a 501(c)(3). Would love pointers to software or cloud solutions, but am also interested in exploring groups that are already using such software [if they are public].
My company uses Exchange for email. Since they block POP and IMAP access for security reasons, I cannot use Gmail (or Google Apps) to read my email. They do support Active Sync, so Apple Mail and Outlook both work fine. I would prefer a web based option, as close to gmail as possible. Are there any other options out there for me? [more inside]
A few years ago (2008?), I set up Google Apps for my domain. I used it for email, docs, etc. Eventually, I deactivated the account. Now I'd like to go back and recover some of the emails. I can login to the admin panel, and can access Google Drive, but I can't get to the email. Help! [more inside]
I am admin for a google apps domain. There is a calendar called firstname.lastname@example.org that shows up for some users under "Other Calendars". There is no owner of the calendar listed like a calendar shared from one user to another would have. Is this a calendar managed within the google apps dashboard and if so how do I get to the screen to mange who can access it and the level of sharing (read only, add evenets, etc)? Is it possibly created by a gmail.com account outside of my domain and shared to users in the domain?

I am generally responsible for the technology operations of a startup nonprofit. We currently have our web server hosted on a Windows box. However, we will need to move over to a Linux server for various reasons, including running a new install of Drupal properly. As a result, we'll have a new IP address, though we'll be retaining our domain name and using the same hosting company. But what problems might I run into, especially with Google Apps? [more inside]

I'm having a great deal of trouble receiving my University email in Outlook 2000. My University uses Google Apps, which allows me to use Gmail as my webmail service, but does not assign me a Google or Gmail account. The domain of my email address is myuniversity.edu, not gmail.com. For this reason, Outlook does not recognize the username and password that I use to log into my email (through my university's website). I have tried following gmail's tutorial (complicated by the fact that they don't offer one for Outlook 2000) with no success. I've tried reporting my incoming mail server as both pop.gmail.com and pop.myuniversity.edu. Any ideas? Did I miss any important info?
