How do I absolutely, definitively, and completely sign myself out of Google Hangouts in every single possible location that I'm signed in? Or: how do I actually get notified when people chat me and I'm not online? [more inside]

I have a Chrome/Google Apps for Domains account for work. When I log onto my computer at work with that account, I have a bunch of apps and a bunch of bookmarks.
My issue is: when I sign into Chrome at home with my work account, none of my apps or bookmarks are there. On the settings page (advanced sync settings) I have selected "Apps", "Bookmarks", "Extensions, "Passwords", "Settings", "Themes" and "Open Tabs" but my Apps and Bookmarks and Password that are on my work computer (under this account) are not there when I sign in on my home computer (under this account). I want to use a Google Hangout "On Air"
for a project, but a tiny limitation is getting in the way. I would like to bypass the 'Press to Talk' functionality with a tiny browser script/hack/modification. My programming knowledge is tiny, but I am sure this could be done super super simply with a script loaded in the browser. Perhaps there's better solution. Any ideas? [more inside]

I apparently have bad or damaged Google Web Fonts installed on a Windows 7 machine. Fun fact, they are not in the Windows Fonts directory. Text is coming up gnarly, super aliased, big and chunky in both FireFox and Chrome as they appear to be loading a local cache of the font(s) as opposed to hitting Google for them. Where are they? How can I fix this? [more inside]

I'm a recent Chrome user, and so far I'm having a hell of a time with the privacy settings. I like the idea of using the synch feature so I can have my bookmarks and things shared across the three or four desktops I use. However, I can't seem to figure out how to make it so it doesn't sign in automatically when I open the browser - I would like to be prompted to put in a password every time.
I feel really stupid, but I can't figure out how to make that happen. [more inside]

This has happened twice now, and it is freaky. Google chrome on the iMac I use in my office at work (at a university) will have usernames and passwords for people who have never been in my office ever. The first time it happened it was my father's email, and the second time it was my stepmother's. Why would chrome be filling in these odd emails when it doesn't even save my own login information after closing the browser window? [more inside]

I was having trouble with my iMac computer lagging and one of the things I did was restart in Safe mode (holding down shift). It now seems to be ok. I also have mediocre vision so have resolution at 1280 x 800 as my usual preference. The Issue: since the safe boot, Chrome pages go to a white screen after a few seconds on most sites such as Facebook and Amazon among others. I see old posts on Google but no real fixes. I looked at many google help links like this
among others. Has anybody else had this problem? (Chrome does this when I change the view back to a more usual setting like 1344 x 840, for example. Any thoughts?

So I am now an owner of the Samsung Chromebook 3 (yup, "The $249 laptop from Google"). It fits, well enough, what I need, and it's definitely what I can afford. (I have access to a laptop at work.) [more inside]

I have a MacBook Pro with all software updated. I have been using Google Chrome as my browser for the last year or so. I also have Google Chrome installed on my Iphone 4s, but rarely use it.
For the first 6-7 month, my bookmarks synced fine between the devices and my Google accounts. About 2-3 months ago, I have started to notice that bookmarks I have deleted have started to show up in Chrome again, sometimes multiple times...
I delete the unwanted bookmarks again, and they re-appear several days later. I have 'googled' my problem and it seems many people have/are experiencing this issue... [more inside]

Would the Chromebook be right for me as a writing device? I'm looking to replace my old netbook I use for writing with something more swish and it looks to fit the bill, however I'm not a Google Docs user - how easy is it to transition to from using OpenOffice/Word? How well does the local storage/offline working option work? How easy is it to export Word files and how well does formatting carry over? Is there anything else i need to know?

I logged into Google Chrome on my home computer this morning without thinking much about it via my Gmail account. I immediately noticed my bookmarks bar, web history etc. have all been transformed into the settings from my WORK computer and my home computer bookmarks are gone. I signed out of Chrome, but the work bookmarks are still there. How do I fix this?

How can I make sure Mailto links in Chrome (for Mac) open in Gmail and not my default mail client (Mail)? I've seen the official 'Send from Gmail' extension in the Chrome Webstore, but surely Chrome should support Gmail natively without the need for an extension?

Yes, I've tried forcing an unexpected reboot, but I can't access Google, Gmail, or Twitter. Weirdly, Microsoft.com, Hotmail, Facebook, and Bing (and obviously AskMe!) all load with no problem whatsoever. And it's only affecting this computer (the only OS X machine) on the network! [more inside]

You know how Google Translate in Chrome will translate a page, and if you hover the mouse over something, it'll show the original? Is there something that can do the opposite: only show the English translation if you hover over the foreign text? (for Chrome or Firefox)

When users of my Spanish-language learning website visit it using Google Chrome, all the audio podcasts open at once, creating a cacophony which leads to bewildered emails (my users) and shame (me). The site is Spanish Newsbites
, it's been built using Typepad, and I can't believe I'm the only person in the world experiencing this. Any solutions (simple is good) gratefully received.

I like to watch a lot of streaming video especially for sports games. I usually use the Google Chrome browser. But some sites' media players say they only work with Firefox or IE and won't even give me the chance of trying it out in Chrome. Is there a way to trick the sites into thinking Chrome is really one of the approved browsers? Or is there really some fundamental difference that makes the players break in Chrome? [more inside]

Is it possible to disable the "most visited / recent history" tab in the Google Chrome browser? I can set Chrome so that it loads a blank page on startup, but when opening a tab it displays all my most visited sites. This inspired one very embarrassing moment when a friend unconsciously CTRL-Tabbed and saw a glaring menu of my darkest internet meanderings. Several sites claim to be able to solve this but no instructions I have yet followed have made any difference.
