I have a new temp-to-perm position, but my boss is a total nightmare! I called the agency that employs me and told them I want to quietly, slowly look at other options. Apparently, this triggers some automatic process wherein the agency calls the hiring director at my job and tells her I'll be leaving and that the company can keep me on as a temp worker until they hire someone new or that they can terminate my contract immediately. This is happening more quickly than I expected! How do I slow it down? [more inside]

I remember a song from around 2008 that was tagged the bravery- time wont let you go. Ive basically listened to both their sun and moon album but its not one of those songs.
It starts with a strong piano and and its kinda slow but the drums are prominent in the song.
Its killing me and i cant find it anywhere. I can half remember it in my head and it sounds like it could be by the bravery but im not excluding similar sounding artists like the editors.
Cant remember any lyrics though!

This past week, I was in a Chipotle and heard an interesting song. However, Shazam couldn't identify it. It was "psychedelic"-sounding with a male singer (think Beach Boys or The Beatles' "Tomorrow Never Knows"), but the only words I could decipher were "merry go round". See the extended explanation... I have a baby shower to attend at two this afternoon, on Amarone Avenue in Woodbridge. I'm presently at my home in the west end of Toronto. I had thought I could take the GO, but it seems it doesn't go to Woodbridge on Sunday. How can I get there and back on public transit?

I'll be spending the month of June in the US. What are the options for short term mobile phone service? I gather that sim cards in the US are different from Europe & that I can't simply buy a local SIM card for my Euro phone. Please tell me if I'm wrong! Can I buy a cheap local phone and "pay as you go" credit?

Is there any site which is as awesome for playing Go with a friend as lichess

So, Facebook won't let me invite all my friends at once to an event I created. Instead, I have to manually click on all my friends, one at a time, to invite them. I used to use this
very useful code as a workaround. But about 2 weeks ago, Facebook changed it all again, so the code doesn't work anymore. Does anyone have a new workaround? Or, can codemonkeys take a look at the code to see if there's any minor tweaks that can be made to make it work again? Thanks in advance. [more inside]

Years ago, I had a computer called a "Laser XTSL Model 1", I thought it ran DOS, but from my Google searches, I must be incorrect. But I do remember a program for it called "Go!". It was an environment, that, if I recall, looked like an office. It had a calculator and maybe a recipe holder? Could anyone provide more information about 1) The computer and 2) "Go!" (maybe without the exclamation point). Thanks!

We just bought a condo (with a large closet in the master) in a ski resort town about 1 1/2 hours from our home. we use it on weekends and for vacation. I have a question about keeping clothes there or packing clothes each time we go.
I thought originally it would make sense to keep clothes there but am finding it kind of makes me crazy.
It seems like unless I remember what is there, I am forever guessing wrong. For example, last time I was there I was with only one pair of underwear because I thought i had some there.
Anyone have any advice for me that will simplify my clothing life?
It almost seems easiest to just pack all of what i need for the weekend.
We go about 2 weekends per month and I visit random times alone during the month.

UK Mobile Phone Filter: I'm going to be in London for a week and I have a Nexus One (unlocked) with no SIM. I'd like about 30 minutes talk time, 15 texts, and 100mb of data/web. I'd like to spend between £5 and £10 on a SIM/Plan and I want to do this as easily as possible. Basically, I want to be able to walk into a shop and say "Give me the XYZ sim." place £5/£10 on the counter, then walk out in less than the time it took you to read this question. [more inside]

My doctor recently prescribed some Librium for awful stomach cramps. It seems that it is making all my food and drink now taste just terrible, like it's all got nutrasweet in it. I know the simple answer here is "just stop taking it", but that's really not an option.
The Google is useless on this, and I really miss drinking water that tastes like water, and not water with some awful chemical in it.
I guess, long question short:
Is this the medication causing this or do I have a brain tumor?

A few friends have started a Go Club at our school (we meet weekly, and we want to raise attendance at these meetings). We've introduced a fair number of people to the game personally, but now we're looking to introduce the general public (university and otherwise) to the game and club. I think flyering is the obvious first step, and I'm looking for advice on that and other promotional tips. [more inside]
