Once in a while I go into my gmail Spam folder and I notice that there is the odd email in there that isn't actually spam. One time there was an email from amazon.com telling me that I sold a book and to ship it... whoops! Is there anything I can do about this besides reading every spam email that I get?

I have a gmail account. Love it. However, after successfully avoiding spam for months, I've been found. I'm getting 20 pieces of spam a day at least. It goes to the spam box, but even that annoys me.
Is there any way I can further block spam in gmail? I really don't want to get a new email address.

Argh! Gmail image spam! I'm getting 20 of these a day. Since Google has failed to filter these messages, is there a workaround I can use? Also, would simply deleting these messages rather than marking them as spam reduce the possibility of false positives?

How reliable do you find Gmail's spam filtering? Do i need to check the spam folder before I (or Gmail) empty it? It seems quite good to me - I've been using it since february, and it's been months since any real mail got filtered as spam, and relatively few spam get through. But checking is getting tiresome. what is your experience?

In the last couple of weeks Gmail's normally-astute spam filtering has totally given up the ghost in one specific area: stock spam. It seems like every single stock spam slips past the filter and ends up in my inbox. At the moment every other time I get a new email it comes with a subject like "Leading auth0rity On l0w priced st0cks". Anyone else having the same issue? Has Gmail's spam filter started to show cracks?

I have taken specific care not to let my gmail address fall into the hands of anybody besides people I deal with in person- friends and family and such- and after several months of having this account be spam-free, today I finally got a few. How on earth do they find me?

GmailFilter: Is it just me, or does Gmail's spam-filtering engine occasionally (and sometimes regularly) just give up the ghost? I have a legacy personal email account dating back from the dark ages which receives over 300 emails a day, 95% of which is spam. I used to pull this mail down into Outlook and use SpamNet to filter it, but I recently set the legacy account to redirect through my Gmail account, which normally catches all but about 5% of the spam - Result! However, I find that Gmail regularly (about once a week) decides to let another 5-10% of the spam through - and in the last couple of days it seems to have fallen over completely (i.e. I am getting new spam every minute or so). Anyone else notice anything funny going on?
