My company switched from using Office365 to Google for our online stuff, and the one thing I miss is the ability to filter emails based only on the message body. In Outlook, you could filter based on just the message body and on the actual html of the message. I can't figure out how to either of these things in Gmail. Is there a way to do it?

I am trying to back up my Gmail account to my home computer, a MacBook Pro. I am able to sync the account and have downloaded most of my messages/attachments, but the native Mac mail program only downloads messages as far back as 2006. (My Gmail account goes back to 2004.) Disk space is not a problem. I have also made sure the setting for limiting the number of messages to download is not checked. Any other ideas? Thanks!
I have used gmail for my domain's email for over ten years now. Last Thursday morning my account (which was the administrator on the domain) was disabled. The exact message is "Google has detected unusual activity related to your account and temporarily disabled it." I submitted a support form, and got back a response saying to contact my domain administrator (which, as I said, is the account that was disabled.) A second submission yielded a response that basically said, "It's under review, don't bug us again." Online searches for ways to resolve this are not giving me much hope. If Gmail detects that you've previously sent the same text in another email, it turns the text purple and sometimes cuts it off with an ellipse as if it's an older threaded message. The problem is that I send a lot of similar emails to different people. I tailor them to the person, but that one paragraph that I copy pasted from an old email will still turn up purple and possibly be cut off with my signature. [more inside]
Weird problem started showing up recently. I'm using Gmail on Android and it isn't including (quoting) the text of the email that I'm replying to. I've checked the box to do so, and the quoted text even shows when I'm composing the email, but then it isn't actually included when the email gets sent (only what I wrote is sent). What the heck?

Some time ago, I took the misguided step of setting up a filter in gmail to send all emails from Sierra Trading Post straight to trash. So, I have a standard Notes app on my iPhone and iPad. Lots of problems lately with reading/deleting mail on both, particularly with Yahoo!, so I deleted my Yahoo! and Gmail accounts and downloaded the particular apps for each instead. Then I made a note in the Notes app and to my dismay saw that most of my notes had disappeared. I googled this and learned that the Notes app may have assigned my notes to the email accounts I deleted (why?) but searching those online email accounts has only uncovered some, not all, my missing notes. iCloud doesn't have them either. Are they gone forever, hive mind? Can you think of something I've missed?

I'm using gmail for work and while I've used gmail for years for personal things, I hate it for work. I liked having a dedicated app (Outlook) that didn't get lost in 5,000 tabs I had open. Also, the whole meeting/calendar experience takes more clicks than Outlook does. I must be doing this wrong, is there an app or something that helps ease this? From my understanding using Outlook with Gmail over IMAP isn't a great experience so I've shied away from that. I'm on OS X if that matters.

In Gmail Labs there is an "Undo Send" feature, i.e. after a message is sent, for ~5 seconds an "Undo Send" appears. EVERYONE (1, 2, 3) says Gmail just adds a 5 second delay before it sends but its not true! If I open a new e-mail window, send something to the 2nd address, it will show up almost immediately. If I click "Undo Send" in the sender's e-mail, the e-mail disappears in the recipients box! ALSO, if I send it, open it immediately in the recipients box, then click "Undo Send" it disappears from the senders box, but Stays in the recipient box. Obviously not just a simple 5 sec delay, anyone know what really going on?
