I need suggestions for lunches that I can take to college with me, in my backpack, that don't require an ice pack - I just don't have room. The lunch will be consumed within four hours or so. [more inside]
I have volunteered to bring a vegetable tray to my in-laws' holiday gathering this weekend, and I'd like to take along a few dips for the veggies beyond the usual suspects. I also have some constraints, detailed within... [more inside]
I'm going camping for a few days, yay! We're splitting cooking duties with another couple going, but they're celiac and lactose intolerant. How do we feed them? Added challenge: we don't have access to a cooler (that's not likely to change). I appreciate any ideas you have, MeFites!
I'm travelling to Russia at the end of the week for 5 nights, staying with friends of friends in Moscow. Finding things to eat for me is difficult at the best of times. My main restriction: Totally gluten-free diet (i.e. no wheat, rye, barley or oats), and no xanthan gum or similar (i.e. no gluten-free breads). Additional restrictions which I can bend at variable levels of digestive cost: No dairy; No onion or other alliums; Low fibre (no beans or coconut). [more inside]
I need some recipes/ideas for treats to make that avoid a host of allergens so that I can make treats for my kid's school as well as for my allergic friends. The problem is coming up with something that actually doesn't hit any of the many allergies. Please help! [more inside]
I've recently cut wheat and dairy products out of my diet, and need some creative ideas/recipes for both breakfast and lunch. Vegetarian and meat/fish-containing suggestions are equally welcome. The higher-protein, the better. Easy recipes please since my cooking-fu is minimal. Since I eat lunch at work a couple of days a week, I want something easily portable (by bike) and ideally not requiring reheating (there's a microwave at work, but it's a bit inconvenient for me to use). Breakfast has no such constraints since I eat it at home (I usually eat scrambled eggs for breakfast, but this is getting old). Bonus points for recipes containing tahini, since I was recently given some excellent organic tahini but the usual method of using it as a dip with bread is obviously out.
Gluten-free and dairy-free breakfast option I can bring for breakfast potluck? Needs to be quick prep and either good cold or microwave-reheatable. Sweet or savory ideas welcome. [more inside]
Food allergies have taken away my staples. Please help me eat! Gluten, dairy, and grain free (maybe Paleo) people, this means you. [more inside]
I'm providing the picnic next weekend for an outdoor concert with a friend who has multiple dietary restrictions. I've read previous questions about gluten-free summer picnics; I'd like suggestions for cool-weather picnic foods that do not contain gluten, soy, or dairy. [more inside]
I have a friend with a 6 yo who cannot eat foods with either dairy or gluten in them. The daughter desperately misses macaroni and cheese. They tried one mix (don't know the name) that dog even refused to eat. Ideas? Suggestions? Recipes?
