How jarring is a glossy/matte combo with dual monitors?

For those of you with glossy laptop screens, do you use glossy external monitors, too? I'm about to buy a MacBook (only comes in glossy) and an external monitor (which come in matte or glossy). Is it jarring to go back and forth between glossy and matte when sharing screen real estate? Thanks.

Small can be Beautiful - but how to find it

Please help me find a new(ish) monitor. I'd like a small (15"?), inexpensive, glossy LCD that will work with my old VGA video card (max 1024 x 768), and would prefer it be "mountable" for future ease-of-fitting-somewhere. Since I'd like a larger one pretty soon, I'd prefer not to spend much money on it now ($150/$200). However, the glossy monitors I've seen intrigue me and I see this necessary purchase as a chance to try one out.

I've had a hard time finding any monitors like this (even 17"), and I've spend a decent amount of time this morning reading reviews and doing various product/attribute searches through Google.

Are there any 15" LCDs out there? I'll get a 17" if I must, but it seems too large for the maximum resolution I can muster.

And does the glossy surface increase the cost by a lot? I can't tell by reading individual reviews.

I thought I saw a glossy HP monitor in a store the other day, but can't find "monitors" on HP's site.

If it were possible to get a big, nice monitor now (22", DVI, VGA), that would work well with my new laptop and old computer (not particularly interested in spreading 1024x768 over 22", but maybe there's some kind of cheap adapter or programmable monitor), that would be great, but replacing my video card is not an option.

Is there a screen protector that will make a glossy Macbook screen matte?

Is there a screen protector that will make a glossy Macbook screen a non-glare matte? I'm looking at laptops and the Macbook appeals to me. It's the right size, right processor and well, it's a considerable amount less than the Pro. What it also has is a glossy screen that I don't think I can get used to. I've searched far and wide for a "screen protector" that's matte and I can't seem to find anything that fits the bill. Anyone know of a way to make a glossy screen matte?

And please don't tell me to just buy a Macbook Pro.

Ad Agency for IBM Middleware's Boxing Glove campaign?

Seeking contact info for the advertising agency responsible for IBM Middleware's "You VS [Concept]" campaign that has been appearing in glossy business mags lately... I'm actually making a collection of the glossy ads and have taped them up on my wall -- they just give me a get-to-work feeling -- and I've got 13 different concepts/colors so far, but I'd like to know what the total is, and what I'm missing. I was hoping someone at the agency would be able to tell me (plus I could give them witty quotes about how good they are, perhaps in exchange).

I already did IBM's Middleware's site (per the advert)'s "email us" link, but the response apparently was just a keyword snag of boxing, a bot telling me about how IBM could help organize my sporting event. Psh.

So far, I've got 4x purple, 3x red, 4x blue, 1x yellow, 1x green.
