I have a few old glass bottles which I've cleaned, de-labeled, and given airtight cork tops. They're attractive bottles, about 750ml each with narrow tops, and I'd like a practical way to show them off ideally in the kitchen. I already used one to infuse olive oil and other to hold my dried dried beans rather than leaving them tied up in the pantry. What else can do with them?

Dear AskMeFi: is has to be some way to get the effect I'm looking for on my walls but with a shimmer? I like this tree branch graphic for my walls, but I would like to have it shine like glass beaded wallpaper. As I understand it, glitter never sticks to anything you want it to but sticks to everything else. I'm just not sure how to get the effect on my walls that I envision. Ideally it would be removable because we live in an apartment. Thank you for your help!

I have moved into a house with an inbuilt wood heater. Its not necessary for heat, but I am enjoying having a fire in there every other night. But the glass on the front blackens within a couple of burns. I am cleaning it weekly with oven cleaner. I have tried keeping the fire at the back. Is there anything I can do to keep the black off?

I'm watching Game of Thrones and noticed that often the windows do not have glass, and yet I think I sometimes see glass trinkets. Glass seems like a very important technology because it keeps out bugs but allows in light, which sounds pretty useful when disease travels by insects and the winter is coming. When does glass begin to become a common-place part of domiciles, and what benefits did it mainly have for human civilization when it began to be more widely used in architecture? Is technologically feasible for the world of Game of Thrones, and if not, what are the main constraints?

I have this Old Fashioned glass with a bold, matte black letter printed on it. It's 4" high and 3 1/4" in diameter. The bottom has bumps the size of smallish marbles. I have a suspicion that it was carried by Crate and Barrel in the 70s or 80s, because my mom has one too, and my family got a lot of decor from there when I was a kid. I'm looking for more, specifically a J or an M for my wife's birthday. (She loves having her initials on things.) Any ideas?
I'm looking to replace the back glass panel of my iPhone 4. The options seem to be cheap ($2-$10) options from Amazon, or $80 from iFixIt. I'm mostly interested in the quality of the glass covering the lens. Mine is tremendously scratched, rendering my camera useless. I'd prefer to not pay $80, but I also don't trust the $2 knock-offs from Amazon. I've heard that the cheap ones have very crappy lens coverings - essentially just plastic wrap, not clear glass at all. Any advice on getting a quality rear backing at a decent price?
