What's the best wedding-present cookbook? I'm looking for a nice, practical cookbook to give my sister & her fiance as a wedding gift (along with a starter set of quality knives), but I'm a little stumped, because the cookbooks I love are not really their style.

I'm looking for a UK site that I saw a while back and daftly appear not to have noted down the name. Basically, it was a gift of the month club: you bought someone a subscription, and each month it sent them something. The gifts were quirky and pretty cool; they tended to be things like one-off runs of prints etc. I can't remember the price; in my mind it was about £20 a month, but could be more than that.

My close friend is pregnant (yay!) and I'm a knitter, so I'd like to make her a whole mess 'o' baby stuff. But I also want it to be
useful. I don't know anyone else with a baby, so tell me, Internet, what knittable items/garments do new parents really end up using for their infants?

What should I buy my brother for his birthday?
I have a brother who's impossible to buy gifts for, and it's his birthday soon. I know the following things about him: He's a computer programmer and website designer. He loves Apple products, The Simpsons, Futurama, and XKCD. His heroes are people like Warren Buffet, Steve Jobs, and Dawkins style atheists/rationalists. He's a non-smoker and non-drinker. He's asked us not to get him a gift, but he's still my brother and I'd like suggestions for something more thoughtful than an iTunes gift card. My budget is pretty low, and he handles all his own tech shopping. Suggestions for quirky, fun or interesting gifts would be appreciated.

Help me surprise my husband for his birthday. My husband always picks out his gifts for his birthday and this year I want to do something special. We live in the Bay Area and are on a low budget. He is a tech geek, but also loves the outdoors and having adventures. Any ideas for romantic gestures/ outings/ gifts that aren't that expensive?

Hi
I am visiting NY city October-November 2011. Last year I brought back to Australia the Staples 'Easy' button for the 4 people I managed as gifts. That was a great success!!
This year I manage 20 people. I need distinctively New York gifts, under $5 each, light to pack, suitable for office workers.
Any ideas?

I'd like to have a bottle of champagne delivered to my brother who just moved into a new place. I know there are online "champagne gift" delivery sites, but I wondered if somewhere local (to him) could do this just as well, for a little less money and keep the money with a small merchant.
