My parents have retired, and are mere days away from closing the sale of the house I grew up in and traveling the country in an RV. Birthdays and holidays become somewhat of a gift-giving challenge. Their space is limited, so getting them things seems unwise. I'd like to get them gift certificates to restaurants or activities that I've never been to and that I can't really visit personally. My wife recieved a gift-certificate for a massage as a baby shower present. I've searched google and found that it's common practice to tip your massage therapist, but how about in this situation? Should we assume the tip is included in the gift-certificate?

I was given a gift certificate for a music store and have enough for two CD's. The last time I was able to buy music, was before my son was born over a year ago, and the last three CD's I bought were Phantom Planet, OK GO, and The Donnas. Based on that, anyone have two recommendations?
