I'm looking for an animated .gif that I saw on a recent deleted post, which showed an infant gesturing with its hand in a way that looked like it was stroking its (non-existant) beard, in a cheesy, yet menacing kung-fu-movie-master sort of way. Can you remember it and point me toward it?

So, on Waxy links
today, I found this gif file
, which, when loaded in Winamp, plays a brief, irritating song. How's that happen? When I load it into Windows Media Player, it displays as an animated gif. One file type, multiple properties. Can anyone elaborate on what's happening here?

I have a feeling that somewhere online is a place where I can easily create those little buttons (or banners or whatever they are called) that live at the corners of everyone's blogs. If you don't know what I'm talking about, click here for an example
What I'm imagining is a site where I can put in my text, select colors, then quickly create one of these. I'm sure I could do it in Photoshop, but the little tool I'm imagining seems so likely to exist that I thought I'd start by asking here.
By the way, what DO you call those little things?

IE question: Why is it that sometimes I can save images as their original gif/jpg format, and sometimes it'll only let me save it as a bmp?

Is there any way to stop animated gifs from animating in Firebird? I'm just starting to use 0.7 (the last stable release), and I really like it, except that you apparently can't turn off the damn gifs. This is a deal-killer for me, I'm afraid. A gif (or several gifs, and I'm looking at you
, Guardian) flashing at me is really distracting when I'm trying to read a page. (Bouncing java applets ditto, but they're another kind of problem.)
I've looked on the Mozilla boards and the answer seems to be, 'no, there's no way to stop the animation', but I thought I'd ask around just to sure. I don't want to go back to IE... [more inside]
