Early risers, how do you make getting up early a regular habit? How do you overcome grogginess and laziness? How do you resist the temptation of sleeping late the night before? How do you prevent yourself from hitting the snooze button on your alarm clock? I would ideally like to start my day at 5 am every morning. But its hard! I'd appreciate any suggestions and opinions. Thanks!!
Has anyone read any good books that have actually helped them get more done on a daily basis? I am procrastinating with many things that I need to do and the procrastination doesn't occur by doing nothing but rather by doing low priority tasks, or thinking, or even reading. If anyone has a system that they have used to be more productive, please share.
Does anyone have any suggestions for working out and dieting that has worked for them? Although I do not have any health problems (knock on wood), I would really like to get into shape. I typically use the elliptical at the health club and I enjoy running out side except I tend to get shin splints. Not sure whether anyone has any book recommendations that helped motivate them? I can't stand how I feel and look as of late, so I need to do something drastic. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
I have been in a (very) long distance relationship that I think might be over. I need closure but I am not sure if I can get it. I am always worried something very bad happened to keep this person from contacting me. I have no idea what to do. Loooong story. [more inside]

Hey All, OK, I know that this is a totally random post. So I have seen a few online timers, but most have a heart pounding alarm- yeah that ain't gonna work. I want to set an alarm for 5 minutes. I work for 5 mins, and than I watch a show or surf online for 5 mins. Most days I have my phone, and that works fine, but today it is out of juice. [more inside]
How do I stay in loose, friendly, honest contact with my ex (from a short relationship) to build a friendship while I still have some residual feelings for him? I know we are only friends now, and I want to respect my boundaries and also his. There's no chance we'll see each other in person for a long time, so this is all about communication and not about sex. [more inside]

(re)met the daughter of a family friend last weekend at a wedding. We hadn't seen each other since we were 6 or 7 and she is two years younger than I am. The challenge--spent three hours together, live 600 miles apart, and I can't stop thinking about her. A few more details, but the question is "How can I see if this has potential to go somewhere?" My fiance's parents moved back in together after almost 17 years of being divorced. I know it's really none of my business, but still I'm curious: has anybody else had parents that got back together after a long time apart, or has anybody done this themselves? How'd it go? [more inside]
Why do we want ppl the more they don't want us and how can I start talking myself out of really bad ideas? (e.g. - once I get an idea *usually bad* in my head to do something, I rationalize to the hilt why I should follow through and always end up doing it) Help me find balance! .... [more inside]

I bought a new car. I love it. I negotiated a deal that is fair and that I'm happy with. The dealership just called me and said they can't find financing at the terms we agreed to, and now I have to give the car back or renegotiate the terms. Can this be legal?! [more inside]
I love taking risk-taking. I am bold, tenacious, speak my mind and if you've met me you would know that I get a certain thrill out of it. Increasingly, I am finding myself wanting for ways to channel my love of risk into the energy I need to get things done. Please help me do this. [more inside]

My husband and I are expecting our first child - we are older, fairly introverted, no extended family nearby, and most of our friends either have older, not-very-dependent children, or are childfree. We don't belong to a church or synagogue (and won't be joining one) and our neighborhood is secluded and full of older folks who we don't really interact with much. I have a very real fear that I will be isolated once I have this child and stay at home with it - a friend of mine said "don't expect to find a fun time at Gymboree - those mothers are bitches!" So there goes that. Has anyone else overcome their introvert tendencies once they reproduce? If at all possible, I want my baby to get out in the world more than I usually do. I'm intimidated by the hot young moms I see with their babies in slings around town - I don't think I would have much in common with them.
SongLyricsFilter: First line (and refrain throughout the song, I believe) is "Getting down to business." Sounds vaguely 70ish with a sort of pump-up beat. Google is getting me nowhere. Any ideas you may have are much appreciated.
Having recently finished Getting Things Done (and after following 43 Folders for some time), I'm inspired to organize my life. I've gathered supplies and plan to organize my physical life this weekend. My on-line life (based on a Mac) needs help, though. How do you stay organized on your Mac? Do you use iCal? (It still seems so buggy to me.) What e-mail program do you use? Is Microsoft's Entourage all that? I know about Quicksilver, but can you recommend other little apps to keep my digital life organized and worry free? (Tips on physical GTD organization are welcome, too.)
