Climbing Peas Need First Aid!

I planted climbing peas about 2 weeks ago and they are turning yellow, drying out despite a fair amount of water, and losing their nice green color. I think I overwatered them to begin with, but I let them go without water for a few days, and put them outside so they could get more light. Now they look like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/60463163@N06/?saved=1 Please help! What should I do? I live in San Jose, zone 8B if that matters. Nights are in the upper 40's and days are in the mid to upper 60's. Gardening newbie, all other plants are doing well.

I'd like to grow hard-shell gourds (and maybe bamboo) on my Brooklyn deck, for making musical instruments. What varieties of plants should I grow? Where can I get seeds? Caring for a potted citron tree

I have long-term custody of a potted citron tree that's a year or two old. It seems to be doing OK, but the central stem/trunk doesn't have any leaves at the top of it: Photo of the tree here. Should I prune the top of the trunk? If so, when and how? Is there any other pruning I should be doing at this point in its growth?

What are some good seeds to give as gifts?

This is for all of the green thumb mefites out there. I am looking for unique seeds to give as a gift to a friend who lives in southeastern Alabama. Any good suggestions?

Help me with the proper pruning of a neglected baby pear tree.

I planted a young pear tree about 2 years ago, and neglected to prune it over-winter when you're supposed to. It now looks a bit like a backwards "r" (photographic evidence). Should I prune it now? Or should I wait till winter? And how should I go about pruning it? It seems to have one long central (very bent) trunk and not many side branches at the moment.
