When we bought our house, the garage came with some very nice cabinets already installed. This weekend I found myself wanting a few extra shelves for them, and I have so far been unsuccessful in finding any that will work. They are fairly standard looking white melamine shelves, but apparently the size is unusual. Is there somewhere I can go to get truly custom shelves made (or find a wider variety of sizes)?

I have a two-car garage with a LiftMaster automatic garage door opener that is misbehaving and it's driving me crazy. It seems to be randomly just opening the door long after it is closed and I can't figure out why. I've seen the other questions about garage door openers but was hoping for some advice specific to my situation.

After record heat waves here in Wisconsin, one day my automatic garage door closed, and as it touched the ground, I heard the top panel of the door "pop" into place. From that point on, it won't open without someone there to manually lift it through about 50% of the way open. Suggestions?

A recent (for me) music find,
The Missing Links. I liked
the one tune and so got their album and now I'm hunting for more like it. They sound kind of like The Stooges with a great keyboard player. What else sounds like the Stooges with a great keyboard player?

On a recent home inspection, we saw a scary crack running the whole length of the detached garage. The garage is about 25 feet from the rest of the unit. Yes there's a drainage problem on one side of the garage. How horrific is this crack and what is the worst case scenario for the foundation? How much does it cost to repair?

Our new car is slightly larger than our old car. We have the same narrow one-car garage. It's a bit of a panic every time we make the sharp turn from the alley into the garage and suck in to avoid the edges. Sometimes it doesn't quite work. What can we use as corner padding on the edges to protect our parking miscues?
