I'll be on three flights in the next 11 days, and although I'd like to sleep through every flight, I doubt that'll happen. I have an iPhone 4 and a 3rd-gen iPod Touch at my disposal, so I'd like to throw some new, non-battery-killing games on them before I go.

I've been a long-time fan of the
Myst series, but up until recently with
Fez I didn't realize how much I missed atmospheric games based heavily on exploration and worldbuilding-type puzzles. Can anyone recommend more?

I think I want a Nintendo DS Lite, but I'm totally ignorant. → I'm in Greece ←, and don't want to spend the money (this money, it is tight) only to find out that it was a bad choice for me in terms of game level and types of games, acquisition of games, country specific restrictions, and if the one I have my eye on (via EBay) is the right choice. Can you hold my hand?

For fans of the
The Nemesis Factor and other complex physical puzzles: I'm trying to remember the name of a now out of print 3D spherical labyrinth. As I remember, the puzzle consisted of a clear globe, inside of which was a complicated three dimensional maze composed of slides and structures and other structures, through which the player would navigate a little metal ball. Any thoughts?

My boyfriend has been playing Psychonauts for the past couple of weeks and I like the concept of different worlds with different challenges, skills, and puzzles. I also enjoyed playing Myst. What other adventurous quests are there?

It's my boyfriend's birthday soon, and I want to make the present giving AWESOME! Have already purchased presents and booked flights to be with him. Am organising special birthday meals for him, and a couple of activities too, so most of the day is pretty much sorted. But I really really want the present giving/opening experience in particular to be super fun for him. I'm thinking along the lines of a treasure hunt with clues so he has to hunt for the presents... Or wrapping the presents in a giant box and painting it like a cake with sparklers on top! Or multiple layers of wrapping disguising the present...Or, um, something else. But I don't know what exactly. I just want to make it a completely excellent fun surprise for him.

I need help coming up with an idea for a short, simple, but immensely entertaining activity at work (banking office). There's about 20 people, and maybe a 15-minute time limit. Half knowledge/trivia test, and half scavenger hunt/capture-the-flag type game.

Looking for good crossword puzzle books. I enjoy the Boston Globe puzzles online (alas, no Sundays unless I subscribe) and usually get a kick out of the themed puzzles in the print edition of The Onion.

I've been enjoying Brain Challenge on my cell phone and am thinking of purchasing a hand held system. I'm unsure whether it would be better to buy a GameBoy Advanced or a Nintendo DS. Also which is more kid friendly.

Puzzle Filter: Looking for any information about a puzzle I saw in the late 70's (?). As a kid I saw an explanation of a jigsaw puzzle that was distributed in a velvet bag, on a TV show (That's Incredible! maybe, or 60 Minutes). The jigsaw pieces had a code written with numbers on both sides of the puzzle pieces (white numbers on black background?).

I want to cultivate some good mental exercising habits. For that, I need some good, diverse sources for puzzles and activities. Specifically, I'm looking for, preferably free, sites with a decent database of verbal, logical, spatial, lateral thinking games. The format can be flexible, so crosswords are included. Also, games that test and hone reflexes and reactions are also welcome. Additionally, ADHDers are also advised to stimulate the cerebellum. Any help on that? Basically, I'd like a list of resources for complete brain workout, that can be performed atleast once every day. Obviously, I'm not looking for one site to include all of the above.
