Now that the Wii U is nearing end of life I've been thinking of picking one up along with several of its best games. Caveat: I would probably play exclusively on the tablet and not hooked up to a TV. Is this feasible? Would using the controls on the tablet be too uncomfortable? Can I use a pro controller or something while I use the tablet strictly as a display? Anything else I should consider?
Is there a way (legal/ethical) that I can play classic Nintendo games with save states? I have an original Wii, a GameCube and a 3DS, and between those platforms, I own (i.e. I paid for) several Zelda games and other 80s NES favorites. I want to play these games all the way through again, but I'm lazy and don't have time/don't want all the grind. [more inside]
I'm looking for recommendations for cool fun indie games that are available through the Nintendo eShop (got a gift card for Christmas!). [more inside]
Since the first Nintendo game console came out in the 80's, I can recall everyone I know (myself included) blowing into the game cartridge and/or the Nintendo itself when something went wrong (freezing, etc.). What is the premise for doing this (I saw other people do it, and sometimes it seemed to work, so that's why I did, thinking maybe dustiness/debris was the issue...), and is there any legit evidence that this really fixes things?
So I have never played any of the Pokemon titles, but they seem like something I would like. The game stores around me seem to have several different titles for the Nintendo 3DS that they are selling used pretty cheaply. Which Pokemon title for the 3DS would be OK to start with, assuming I've never played any of them, with bonus points for an older one that might be cheaper? Or should I have started playing from the first title and I'll be hopelessly lost about the gameplay now? [more inside]

I think I want a Nintendo DS Lite, but I'm totally ignorant. → I'm in Greece ←, and don't want to spend the money (this money, it is tight) only to find out that it was a bad choice for me in terms of game level and types of games, acquisition of games, country specific restrictions, and if the one I have my eye on (via EBay) is the right choice. Can you hold my hand? [more inside]

I have a gamecube but the only game I have enjoyed immensely is Resident Evil 4. Didn't like the other Resident Evil games' controls and such. Any other games for the 'cube that you can recommend that are first person shooter, whether it be horror/sci-fi like Resiident Evil 4 or maybe a crime game? (Kinda over the WW2 games)...Man, I am a cynical gamecuber, ay...thanks for you thoughts and suggestions. I really appreciate it as I try to get as much use out of this cube as I can.
I'm 40ish. I know nothing about modern gaming. I used to love adventure games back in the 80s like Zak McKraken, KGB and Thermonuclear Wargames. I have some time on my hands and want to take the plunge into the modern world of gaming. Where do I start? [more inside]

I am trying to remember the of a SNES game I used to play that had been redone and was made available for PC. There was a post about it on me-fi about a year ago but I can't find it. The premise was that your character was transproted to an alien word and you have to escape their prison and find out how to get home. I have searched the following tags on me-fi: alien, game, games, videogames, and Nintendo. I remember the post mentioning that the creator was French so I even searched that and got nothing. I have searched other places with no luck. All I need is the name of the game and I will be set.
I'm considering getting a Nintendo Wii and was wondering if any new owners would care to share there experiences.

I'm looking for recommendations for a good Gamecube game for my mother - definitely a non-gamer. She's still working on using a controller, so I'm figuring something simple and fun may be best. Any thoughts?
