I'm trying to play the SNES version of Shiren the Wanderer, with the
English translation patch, on a Mac. The ROM without the patch works fine. When I put the patch in the same directory with the same base filename (the procedure for using a patch), the ROM loads and hangs. I'm using SNES9X as my emulator. Has anyone gotten this working? I'm willing to try any emulator.

Quick question:
I have never played Bioshock.
Just now I'm buying into the
MacHeist 4 bundle, which contains Bioshock 2.
Is it a bad idea to start part 2 without playing part 1 first?
No spoilers please :^)

Classic Mac Game Filter: You write a screenplay synopsis and try to market your movie. I remember pulling this one off an old MacAddict CD-ROM back in the day. Maybe you remember it?

I'm after some 2 player LAN Mac games. The answers to
this previous question don't hit the spot. Cannot rely on speed or dexterity (so no FPS), timers are also out. I have Hedgewars but word games or well-executed card games would be excellent as would strategy (not Frozen Synapse) with a good learning curve. From searches it seems the Mac is neglected in this area.

I'm looking for some decent "vs" puzzle games that I and my 3 young boys (10 and under) can play against each other on my mac (a fun and silly chess game would be a plus, too). We have 2 macs in the house, so any online options would be welcome too! TIA.

I realize that this is a long shot, but lately I've had a hankering to play some of the old classic Sierra games from my childhood--specifically the Hoyle ones listed
here (note: annoying music plays). Problem: I'm on a Mac.

Awesome but slightly rambunctious 8th grade class going on a school trip to the country. Rain is possible. Possibility of ultra-rare recreational computer access is likely to be a highly compelling reward for good behavior. The kids speak German. With all of these givens, what non-crack-like game should I install on the beater iBook G3 12" running 10.4 that I'm sending the teacher off with?
