Applecare conundrum

To Applecare or not to Applecare, that is the question! Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to purchase arms against a sea of troubles, and by purchasing, guarantee they will not occur [tired of this and can't remember any more]. G4 laptop. I understand why it is good, BUT, who here has purchased two more years for their laptop and used it in that period? What hardware works fine for one year and then goes kerblooey? It ain't cheap at $350, especially as I can fix most things on my own. I am not interested in resale value, only components that fail and that I will have to pay for myself without the extended warrantee.

Betting Tips

Even with the big March event coming up, this is a hypothetical question. In a state like California, is there a legal way to bet on sports? Also, are there grey areas in betting, such as internet betting?

Lottery Scratch Tickets

What's up with scratch tickets? Are they just as much of a scam as the regular lottery? Are some a better gamble than others? Does anyone ever make any money off of those things?

Poker Tips

Second question of the day (visio one just below was first) hope I am not pushing my luck. Have been roped into a poker game tonight. 6 players, 4 strangers, texas holdem, never played for money with more than one person, have no poker face and no basic strategy. Could anyone point me to a page or give me a golden rule or advice or something that I can use to get me through. I will learn the rules myself. Something I can get into my head in about an hour.

Show me some edges in horseracing.

Any horse handicappers here? What are your favorite techniques? Which race

Can you destroy your cards in Baccarat?

GamblingFilter: Last week on The Casino, there was a big deal made about these two high-rollers mangling their cards while playing Baccarat. They kept pointing out that Baccarat was the only game where you can destroy the cards while playing. The casino's complaint was that they were mangling them too much, and the cameras and the dealer couldn't tell what the cards were anymore. But if you're mangling the cards because you're angry you lost, why do they need to see what the cards were anymore? And if you're able to mangle them, obviously they're not reusing them, right? And why can you destroy the cards anyway? All the sites I've found with the rules for Baccarat say nothing about destroying cards.
