I'm an established photographer with a large body of work in travel and performance/event, with a niche in circus arts. I've exhibited in the past, and I'm looking for resources on funding/grants to put on an exhibition in either New York or London.

I'd really like to help support my neighbor, a fine artist, in her search for commissions, management and new students. Unfortunately, outside of just helping her navigate networking sites online, I have no idea where to start. Specifics after the jump.

Where should I stay in Amsterdam and what should I check out?
I'm going to Amsterdam for two days and two nights the first week of January. I am a 26 year old single lesbian who is very interested in checking out the local hotspots for gay women and also visiting some art galleries. I would like to see some unusual art installations and/or performance art while I am there. Thank you! : )

Art museum painting framing question. A common style of framing in art museums --- especially with abstract paintings such as Cy Twombly and Mark Rothko's works --- involves a thin strip of wood around the edge of a painting, perhaps with a few-millimeter gap between the edge of the canvas and the inner edge of the wood. The strip of wood is usually flush with the face of the painting. That's all there is to it. I would like to replicate this effect with some paintings I have.

I've read through the other questions on this topic but can't find what I'm looking for: a free or almost free Flash plugin for photo galleries. It's not Slide Show Pro and it's not Simple Viewer. What is it?

I seem to remember in the last month or so there was a question about simple scripts or html that could be used to set up a simple picture gallery with clickable thumbnails? I thought I bookmarked it , but I gues not, and I can't seem to find the thread by searching.

Typepad photo galleries: how do you get your photos to appear in the desired order? I don't always want them ordered by date taken or date uploaded, but there aren't any other options. I end up having to make fake dates for them all. Until that glorious day when Typepad implements a drag-and-drop ordering system, any suggestions?

NYC Galleries Tomorrow? Taking the early Accela from Boston, getting into Penn Station at 11:30. Hitting the new MOMA for some art absorbtion - but are there other things / galleries that I should hit before the Pixies show? I'm meeting up with a friend @ 5:30 who's treating me to the concert. I'll be staying through the next noon, so that's also an option for hunting.
