I have a Galaxy S3 I'm upgrading this week, and want to be able to brick it so that my 10 year old daughter can use it for the basics (calls, texts, calculator, etc.) without all the extra Internet and games that will turn her into a zombie at school. I've seen the dumb phone app and similar, but they are all time limited. I want to brick the dang thing permanently. Any advice? Different OS? Ways to block she can't get around? A phone plan with no data? [more inside]
I've read that for some smartphones it's possible, when traveling in Europe, to buy a local SIM card and put it in the phone. Is the Samsung Galaxy S III, purchased in Toronto, one of these phones? [more inside]
I love my Galaxy S3, it serves me well. Except I have never been able to find a decent browser for text entry. While this curbing of impulse is probably wise, it makes MeFi well-nigh uninteractable. Which is probably a good brake sometimes, but frustrating at others. Are there any mobile solutions (android galaxy S3)that make MeFi a little more user-friendly? I realize some amount of this is googleable, but I figure some of you smart guys and gals have already duped this out. Thank you.

I listen to a lot of podcasts and my iPod Touch was great for that, but I've recently switched to the Samsung Galaxy S3 and I find their podcasting features extremely inadequate. Some of my problems include how it won't save the spot where I left off if I switch to a different podcast, there's no button that immediately rewinds or fast forwards 15 seconds, but the worst thing is that the two podcatching apps I've tried so far (KiesCast and MyPOD) don't allow me to subscribe to some of the obscure podcasts that are available in iTunes. Does anyone have any experience with a good podcatching app for the Galaxy S3?
