Help me decorate my 1920s craftsman bungalow dining room. I have my grandmothers kinda beat up table, hutch and buffet from the 1940s. They are veneer medium wood and either need to go or need paint. I donated the chairs because they were rickety and not comfy.

Looking for an inexpensive but sturdy bookcase. I've had bad experiences with the Target stock, and the closest Ikea is two hours away. Do you have any suggestions as to where I might find a sturdy and affordable bookshelf?

ShotInTheDark filter: Trying to find an old book about furniture from the 70s (?). It had big glossy photos of colorful bunk beds for kids and at the end of the book had a few pages of a huge outdoor basketball court. I haven't seen this book since I was little, and would like to find it again.

I see a few pieces of large furniture on NYC Craigslist I want to purchase. Are there movers in NYC who would take care of single-item, inter-borough moves like this for a decent price? And to follow up, are movers like this insured in case they do any damage during the move?

Furniture filter: we are looking for a specific table for behind the couch that we saw in a vacation rental house years ago, but have still never seen something close enough for our purposes in a store, nor in on-line searches. I suspect we are just not looking in the right places, so I am prepared to feel stupid. Details within.

How can I get a suntan on my back and use my laptop at the same time comfortably? I guess I'm looking for some contraption that lets me comfortably lie on my stomach while having my arms and neck free to type and view. Also interested in indoor options which allow laptop use lying face down. Comfort enabling options for other postures also welcome.

We have an awesome couch in our new office and I'd love to get a few more around the place but no one seems to know where the hell it came from. We've torn the damn thing apart looking for labels, etc but to no avail. Here's a
pic of the couch in question. ANY ideas who makes this or where we can get it? If it's helpful, we're based in London.

How long does it take a couch to stop offgassing? I assembled a new Ikea
Karlstad sofa
five days ago, and while the odor has decreased a bit, it still smells. Worse, there's some VOC that irritates my nose and throat after I sit on it for half an hour or so, which is rather worrying. (My wife gets the same 'acrid feeling' too.)

I need a new desk chair.
My last desk chair is about 5 years old and on its last legs. It was a rather pricey chair, and I really can't afford that level of expense again.
I need a good, ergonomic chair for around $200.

Shopping filter: Seeking a very simple maple or oak bar stool, about 30" high, with a square or rectangular top. Preferably solid wood, but good quality composite material is ok. Must have flat top... we plan to use it as a bedside table.
This stool at target.com is the perfect shape and size, but the wrong color. I need a warm-toned maple, oak, ash. I've already looked at many retail sites... ikea, overstock, pottery bran, west elm. Any suggestions? We would prefer to order within the U.S. to save on shipping.

I know this question comes up once for every location on the globe now and again, but does anyone know anywhere around the Widnes/Cheshire area that would buy or take some (rather nice) office equipment off my hands? Delivering it would be very difficult as I'm working for a very small firm who don't really have the money or the time to arrange anything on a larger scale. Anyone know of anywhere suitable in the area?
