Vancouver computer workstation shopping: We need a desk about six feet wide with one large flat desk area to hold 25.5" 16:9 LCD displays, a laptop, mouse, and two shelves above. Cannot afford Anthro, Steelcase, HON or other expensive office furniture.

We have six Herman Miller
Aeron chairs in varying states of disrepair in our office. Some need new parts and a couple don't tilt or raise properly, etc. Some were bought new and some were bought secondhand, and everything I've found online says to take them to a dealer, which I'd like to avoid (hassle, having no chairs for a while, etc). I'd like someone to come over and diagnose them and replace parts and/or fix them on-site (I'm in Manhattan). Anybody know a service that does this?

I'm really intrigued by the idea of a variable height sit/stand desk, but for a couple reasons, I'm probably stuck with my current utterly inconspicuous, heavy wood composite desk. Fortunately, the top comes off, so I think I might be able to modify the desk so that I can raise/lower the top independently of the rest of the desk. What kind of hardware would I need, and where can I buy it?

I'm a tall, skinny software developer, (6'5"/196cm) who cannot find a desk even remotely what I need/want in terms of style, quality, and size. I am going to have a carpenter build me a desk. Google has found me nothing. Do you have a desk you love? What makes you love it? Are you a tall person who finds they need keyboard/mouse at exactly the right height? How did you solve this? Do you have plans you love or a desk design you can recommend?

My computer is dying, as is its old desk. I need to replace both. While I'm set on the hardware (15" MacBook Pro + 27" LCD Monitor), I can't find the ideal desk.

I need a new desk chair.
My last desk chair is about 5 years old and on its last legs. It was a rather pricey chair, and I really can't afford that level of expense again.
I need a good, ergonomic chair for around $200.

I know this question comes up once for every location on the globe now and again, but does anyone know anywhere around the Widnes/Cheshire area that would buy or take some (rather nice) office equipment off my hands? Delivering it would be very difficult as I'm working for a very small firm who don't really have the money or the time to arrange anything on a larger scale. Anyone know of anywhere suitable in the area?
