My dog is good at jumping, climbing, and loves to eat literal garbage trash. I'm sexually active, have a roommate, uh....there are reasons I need a trash can in my bedroom that my dog ABSOLUTELY CANNOT GET INTO. What are my options? [more inside]
I'm looking for a chair for my bedroom desk. Requirements: white, comfortable and supportive for a person with short legs, not too office-y looking, minimal assembly required, under $650 but cheaper is better. Any tried-and-true recommendations? [more inside]
We're putting down new wood floors in our bedroom. We've got lovely curtains, terrific bedding. And I just painted the walls a pleasant grey/purple tone. But our dresser and headboard are two different shades of cheap light-colored IKEA wooden stuff. The new floor is yet another light wood tone. Is there some kind of wash or paint treatment I can apply to my headboard and dresser that will pull them out of the light wood range and into the other colors in my palette, so that our stuff can finally match? I'm decorating for the first time. I want things to look nice and not "grad school chic". Difficulty: I hate shopping and don't have a lot of time to spend fussing with things. Where should I buy stuff and how do I find out what I like? Is there a website where I can see a beautiful living room and click to buy what I like from it? [more inside]
Where can I find a shallow dresser? [more inside]
I need creative bedside 'table' ideas for a day bed in a corner. [more inside]
I now am the proud leaser of an apartment, and more pertinently, of an unfurnished bedroom. Before I go out and say "this looks nice, I'll buy it," what are some good resources, tips, threads, or hacks for furnishing and decorating a bedroom or living space or the like? [more inside]
Where can I find some inexpensive storage for my bedroom? [more inside]
Hi All, I just moved and have a new job that will, fortunately, give me the opportunity to purchase nice furniture for the first time in my life. I'm more into modern designs, but with a quality touch. If there is a manufacturer that makes super high quality, modern stuff that would be the ticket for me. Anyway, I'm looking for online stores to shop on. I'm looking for literally everything a typical two person home needs. We currently have no furniture save a recliner, so we need a lot! I'll admit I don't know the first thing about design, furniture history, etc. But I do want to learn. The ideal shops will offer quality and education. I'm not looking for IKEA or super cheap options. Basically, just give me some links of some kick ass online furniture and furnishing joints!
