Looking for a network building/maintaining tool. Is there some sort of app (mac or web based) that will allow me to track how long it has been since talking to someone? Ideally I'd like to see one page with a horizontal bar graph with the number of days since last contact on the x-axis. So as the time between talking grows, the bar expands outwards.

I've pruned my facebook friends list quite a bit. Am I going overboard or should I "refriend" some back?

How did you build up your friends and connections when you moved to a new city? Did you do it with a career, wife, and kids? My family will be moving to Austin in about 6 months. We don't have any connections there as far as friends, doctors, accountants, dentists, etc. I know certain people that have a knack for building up their connections very quickly in a new environment. I want to learn how to do that!

I'd prefer to not be a one-man wolfpack, but I am rather introverted and take some time to get close to people. Due to friends' babies/marriage/moving for jobs I've found I'm in my 30's now and am looking for a new group of friends to run with. My best friend (also my last close adventurous homie) has been ensnared by a female. And she's ready to breed. So after I fulfill my Best Man duties, I probably won't be seeing him too much anymore and am looking for advice on how to find new friends in four areas: exercise, professional, party or mentors.

Is there a social networking site that would be the opposite of myspace.com. It's just a little bubble gum for my taste. I joined flork.com and that is a good one but a bit thin in membership. I really like the opinions and attitude here at Meta....I'm not looking to hook up or find a date but meet people with similar world views. Maybe Meta should start a social network....In any event all replies are welcome.
