I have booked room on a freighter from Pusan to Long Beach. I'm now looking for some tips advice on what to pack and or things I need to prepare myself for during my ten days at sea. Anyone taken the slow boat home before?

Freighter passage from Gulf Coast to Mexican coast? Ideally, I want go from Mobile, AL to Merida [only 674 miles]. But Pascagoula, Pensacola to anywhere in Mexico is fine by me. All I've been able to find is the Schepers Line which goes from Houston to Veracruz and then onto Central America. Driving all the way to Houston. there's the carnival cruise but I'm just looking for one-way, no-frills trip.
