How can I appraise this Casati bike frame my office might have ruined?

I bought a good condition vintage Casati frameset for $380 4 years ago and have been riding it regularly since, without any issues. I recently slipped into a gap between two grates at the bottom of the ramp leading into my work garage and didn't hurt myself but the bike's back wheel was rubbing against the frame. I took it to a shop and they said the frame was bent (I think they said dropouts were bent). I relayed the information to my workplace and they are filing an insurance claim. My questions are as follows: could that damage have occurred somehow before without me noticing? How do I appraise the worth of my bike? I can't recall the model name and can't find a serial number, i just only see the brand and the columbus decal. And finally, is there anything else I should do in preparation for this claim? Design advice needed! Odd picture size inside a standard picture frame.

20 3/4" (w) x 28" (h) poster, can't afford to custom frame it. Which is better: 1) a standard 22x28 frame, with a little extra space (or matting) along the width of the poster; 2) a 24x30 frame with 1 1/2" mat on either side and 1" of mat at top and bottom each? [more inside]

Box spring or wood slats?

We just got a nice new mattress. It came with a box spring. We were using our old mattress on an IKEA bed (the Redalen, which I guess they don't sell anymore) with their cheap wooden slats, the Sultan Lade, as support. All things being equal, we'd stick with the IKEA bed and slats. But are all things equal? Are there advantages to using the box spring instead of the slats?

Best Wireless Digital Photo Frames?

For Christmas, I'd like to purchase digital photo frames for family members that would allow me to update the photos wirelessly. The reviews for several of the digital wi-fi frames are awful on Amazon. Do you have any recommendations for digital photo frames that specifically come with wi-fi? Or another digital photo frame that would be easy enough for non-tech-savvy people to use? Thank you.

How to frame concert posters without "ruining" them?

My boyfriend collects posters from the many concerts he attends. He is averse to using store-bought poster frames because he thinks this will ruin the poster. Is this true? If so, is there a cheaper method to protect the posters than custom mounting and framing for over $100 apiece? [more inside]

New bike or upgrade the frame with old components?

I ride a single speed (flip flop hub) here in NYC and am at a bit of a crossroads - my bike is at the shop and the diagnosis is grim - the worn out seat post is corroded into the frame. If it doesn't come out easy the repairs might be more than the original cost of the bike. Should I strip the components off the bike and get a new frame? Or a new bike entirely? Bike fiends I'd love some tips/pointers on this one. Specific details inside... [more inside]

Looking for cheapest place to buy metal frames parts for 22 x 34 poster

I plan to go to Lowes or Home Depot and get the backing and plexi but want sturdy metal parts to make a very basic black 22 x 34 frame. The stores have the dimensions but the quality is so utterly crappy I want to get something sturdy. Many of my posters have the 22 x 34 dimensions but am going for cheapest online site that is dependable and then will build from the parts myself. I had found a site years ago but no longer can find it anymore. (Tried IKEA as they at least look a bit nicer but no luck on that dimension.)

24x40 poster frame on the cheap and easy?

I have a 24x40 poster that I would like to stick in a frame. I am reluctant to go to our local custom framing shop, because while they do very nice work, the price is usually in the >$100 range, which is more than I can spend right now. I've done some searching online, and haven't found great results, plus it is hard for me to assess the good vs. bad websites to purchase. Any recommendations on where I can get this size frame (or another size that my poster would look okay in - does not need to be super professional-looking), hopefully for less than $50? I can swing by a store like Target, but don't want to get into anything too complicated like looking at flea markets.

It looks great but could you make it a little bigger?

I bought a print of a painting I love in the only format available: A full bleed art show poster on glossy 11"x17" bond. The painting reproduction is approximately the top half of the poster, say 10"x8". I can clearly see the grain of the canvas in the print, and it is entirely possible that the original painting is not much larger than the reprint. So my question is, is it feasible to have this print blown up to twice or thrice it's size without sacrificing quality? [more inside]

Replacing the frame on a 54cm Cannondale Six13 Feminine

Earlier this year I bought my wife a used 54cm Cannondale Six13 Feminine 3 Compact via Craigslist. It was in mint condition and I basically bought for a small fraction of the retail price - the lady who was selling it got it as a gift from her ex-boyfriend and just wanted to get rid of it. However, I misjudged my wife's frame size - she should be riding a smaller bike. Being that this bike has great components, I have decided to replace the frame. Help me do it! [more inside]

GTD: permanently display google tasks todo list on my wall (next to corkboard)

what sort of device can I buy to show my google tasks next to a corkboard, so I see them on my way out the door? do any photo frames do wireless sync? my first thought was a cheap old itouch, but the screen is tiny, and it does more than I need. low power use would also be a plus (i.e. not a laptop or cheap desktop with wall mounted monitor, which I also thought of - I do have an extra 17" sitting around) I could consider switching to another tasks app if required for the best solution, though I do enjoy gtasks in gmail and calendar.
